Subaru anyday simple as that focus are nice but there not jap and if you want performance personally you can't beat the feel of a sti the way they drive are unreal you no your in something that is made to be driven hard and bang them side by side and you can't compare the look of a focus to a sti
My personal opinion I always wanted a subaru so as soon as I could I bought 1 now I'm on my second and I never want anything else
You 100% will not regret buying a scooby just go and test drive one

You've done the right thing starting here. Do as much research as you can, maybe get to a local meet if there is one and see which version you like best. And if there's someone local to you maybe they'll take you out for a spin. With your budget there's plenty of options. I've had mine for 6 months now and don't regret a second of it. Every time that turbo kicks in I hang on and grin like a deranged child.

Maybe the Stig wasn't driving it right?
Things have moved on a bit since the WR1.

01:28.2 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Series 11, Episode 2

01:29.3 Ford Focus RS Mk II Series 13, Episode 4

That's in the hands of a professional racing driver, most RS owners wouldn't stand a chance in the twisties.

And what about this one?

01:27.7 Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 (wet) Series 16, Episode 3

I wonder why Ford don't make the RS with similar power?
