Went over to Castle Combe today for the Bank holiday Raceday and all the signs are out for the horse trials.
The busy section will be from the Pub where we usually turn right at the lights right upto the village where we usually take the short cut and turn right on the bend, so going to the back road will most definitely be the best idea for Saturday and early as everyone else will be doing the same thing.
Also, if its sunny and dry, be sure to take a cap and a fly squatter. The place was infested with them today.

Alternative suggestion might be that when coming off at Junc 18 go right off the roundabout an head towards Bath and drop onto the A420.

Dave,
Like a tramp on chips mate

As per last year a good alternative and we will be on the right side of the road.

Oh well, looks like I will have to leave no later than 5am to make good time and have a coffee with a chat at Magor.
Why are there no shows closer?

Yes we have our own area / stand, plus if you get there any later than 8.00am then you will queue for ages crawling along at a snails pace as you get closer to the circuit.
I would rather be early and breeze in rather than be later and be stuck in all the queues.
