If all they're doing is polishing hoses and sliding down shafts, how are they putting people's lives at risk?

If everyone is out the stay out and control the fire until it burns out if they are big fire. I work for the ambo service and use their stations where they have a nice 50"+ TV, pool table full English breakfast for a couple of quid which they moan about when that goes up.
I went to a house fire yesterday which turned out to be burnt dinner, 3 pumps 1 officer car.
They get paid a lot more than paramedics for doing **** all and sitting around all day.
I wonder what would happen if they ambulance service stroked over are crap pay and changing pension which I have to work until I am nearly 70, would you want a pensioner doing CPR on your family member?

The only reason you'd get a pensioner performing CPR on you around here is because it's taken them 15 years to turn up to the job.

..... will we actually notice?
The number 1 job in the world where you are called on to do less than 1 hours work a week .... other than that you're polishing each others hoses, sliding down on shafts and managing your other three jobs!
Another great non-job which has 100 people chasing every vacancy ..... sack the strikers on the spot and recruit those who want to do the job for the terms and conditions offered!

It's had very little coverage as everyone is fed up to the back teeth with them, and the Teachers, bleating and moaning and striking .................... the public do NOT support you so get back to work!

After two years of discussions and improved terms, fire fighters will still get one of the most generous public service pensions available – as an average, £26,000 a year, when including the £7,000 state pension.
And they are going on strike for MORE!?
This is the reason they don't get the Taxpayers support - we have to pay this for the rest of their lives ..... which could well be over 30 years! It's fully Index Linked too!

Give it a rest or come up with something new to wind people up about. You used to be so much better at getting people going. Now it's like an episode of X-Factor - enjoyable at first but now only taken seriously by plebs.

I wouldn't want to be the one to retrieve the 5 bodies from the house in Sheffield. Two adults and three kids dead. Firemen deserve every penny.
RIP.

No, Pete. Everyone is fed up with you posting the same thread at least twice a year for the last ten years.

Pete, you know you're just posting about the firemen to try and get a rise out of people. It doesn't even warrant any response other than those pointing out what a tw@t you are being...again....
You've alluded to the fact you work in the nuclear industry in a defence related environment. *If* thats true (and that's stretching the benefit of any doubt to breaking point), given that if we have to use anything you design/build/whatever we're all totally f ucked, that makes your job pretty much the most useless of all, doesn't it?
