Thoughts on these two cars?

One of these?
Bluetooth OBDII OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner, Scan tool check Engine Light CAR CODE READER for ELM327: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike
Read it with my App, (albeit Android) and what sort of thing will it tell me?
edit: Obviously read the Amazon blurb, but what should I be looking for on a JDM Blobeye STi?
Cheers

It took me ages to find a good subaru trust tere is so much rubbish out tere at one point I even gave up looking for one not being funny mate but if I had 12 grand to spend I'd get an evo and also tere both imports unless your 50 with 20 years no claims your looking at at least 2000 grand a year insurance ,your a dealers dream putting a deposit down without seeing the car , well at least your not a so called tyre kicker.........

As lovely as an Evo is, they have highr servicing costs, less reliable (although still reliable) and general daily running is not as pleasant as a Scooby, yes I've owned one of them too.
Last time I chec though, this was a Subaru forum? So you are saying people only buy Subarus because they can't afford Evo's? Behave lad.
To the OP - yes Torque Pro was what I was thinking of!

Ok well I don't know what your putting on your insurance , but I have just had to insure one so I should know .. I have 8yrs no claims and I'm 30 and I couldn't get it any cheaper than 1850 for a jdm sti ..import ,not import it was like 600 so that is killing the market to... I'm just saying people should look at insurance more..
It just gets on my **** at how many people out there would buy a car almost without looking at them and there from the same dealer ,,,,
This is why the subaru market is s,,t and proper buyers get treated like tyre kickers because they want a decent car,and I love subies don't get me wrong ,I'm just ranting because I had such a stressful time buying what was supposed to be my dream car..... sorry didn't mean the evo part lol

I am 'not' putting anything on my insurance other than giving the facts. 32, no claims 10 years, no points, one accident (not at fault) and the highest risk postcode next to Moss Side and Toxteth. You need to look at specialist insurers like Kieth Michaels - they will help you out. They do ask for experience of driving a performance car before I believe, and I used to own (build) a Mk2 Golf with an S3 engine running 270bhp which I built at 24, so that probably helped
What is spoiling the Subaru market is the chavs from Subaru Swap Shop on Facebook buying them, wrecking them, then moving them on.
If a person wants to deposit a car without seeing and putting trust in a dealer, then that is entirely up them! Not something I personally would do, however I got royally shafted on my first Type R STI by a 'specialist' dealer in Cornwall, and I saw the car in person after travelling 8 hours to see it! so I learnt a big lesson on that one. We all make mistakes. Be thorough, extremely thorough, and when they try to railroad you, walk away.....and spend the money on an AA inspection.
Sorry your Subaru isnt working out for you, it happens to us all at some point in life, so i know its a right s****r when it does! the whole of England is trying to con people these days! God, there is even TV shows on it!

Some nice assumptions there, based on not knowing me from Adam.
I've owned plenty of quick cars and imports, and insurance has never been an problem. I'm 31 with 12 years NCD, no points, and live in a decent post code; I'm not some little boy-racer chav. I currently pay under £300 for my present JDM import (twin turbo Legacy with mods declared), so it won't be an issue.
The fact that I've got a reasonable amount of money to spend makes no odds. There are plenty of people who'd spend their £12k on a Supra, or a Skyline. I don't want an Evo, otherwise I'd be posting this on the MLR.
I can't tell if I am, in your eyes, a tyre kicker or not - my sarcasm detector must need recalibrating, I guess. You may not fancy paying a deposit with the car unseen, but it has worked for me on many occasions. I am far from a car dealers dream, putting the deposit down wasn't for his benefit, it's for mine. I can't get to see the car for well over a week, so I've done what I think is worth doing to secure what seems to be exactly what I'm looking for.

Completely agree with sauce.
I suggest you spend a bit more time researching insurance Nevell.... There must be a reason yours is so high, I have a classic STi JDM import and insured it when I was 24 for less than a grand with 6 or 7 yrs ncb.
I have never paid over 1k for insurance, and that is on my modified Glanza, GT Turbo, Vectra VXR, ITB'd rover 214, etc! I had my modified glanza when I was 18 and it was 999.00.... The scooby is still under 1k now im 25 and I just insured my glanza for the princely sum of £386.50

My insurance on a 2006 Widetrack STI is £1000, 36 years old, full no claims in North West Kent. It's due for renewal next month so will try Keith Michaels, at least they will accept me this time for having experience on the car.
It took me 18 months looking for my car so I know how much hassle it is, Hurst Cars seemed a decent bloke when I went up and looked at one, only reason I didn't get it is that it wasn't a widetrack and I really wanted one in black.
