Funny enough my first ever lap of the ring a few years ago was in the wet to. It's an addictive place that's for sure.

Yeah done a fair bit of research on the GTR forum so have a list of things to check, especially pre 2012 cars, which are probably the ones we will be looking at given our budget.

Sorry if I am putting a negative spin on a otherwise upbeat thread but I've seen/heard that they can be a bit to grown up and lack the wow factor. I am a fan and I am sure that one of the fastest cars in the world is not boring but all seems a bit one sided.

Not sure how you manage to remember all the corners in the correct order.... some of the blind crests are ridiculous!

Good plan... 2010 or 2011 would be good buys. 2011 has a lot of little extras that do add up.

That is exactly why I asked if the car had been test driven. At road (legal) speeds the car can be a little boring, because it is so capable. Some like it some dont.... Its what I like drive to the track, race it, drive it home.

I did find and still do find it hard to remember all the corners. I tend to try and break the circuit up in to sections and just concentrate on learning them bit by bit. Seems to work well so far.

If anything, I think the biggest flaws are that they are not grown up enough.

Great car, i had mines for 6 months moved it due to the fact i dont keep cars long.

Good - Exceptionally quick, its got more bottle than you the driver has, grips like hell & i dont think we have anything available to buy on the UK shores that will beat it to 100 mph

Bad - Eats tyres, loves fuel

My one was new when i had it so no issues to report apart from a dash rattle.

As said previously, every petrolhead should own one at one point in there life

mines not bad on fuel considering it runs 600+bhp

dash rattles are a pain, but after a few attempts I have 1 left and then the front calipers pin and then hopefully no more rattles
