Was this place on Wheeler Dealers??
Used Brembos and a set of standard 17"inch STi wheels £1000, Mike Brewer the d1ck head thought he was getting a bargain with his stupid catch phrase "hold ya hand out fella, you got a deal"

My Hawkeye is just about to be broken for spares
Everything on it is good and road worthy but as a whole its worthless
I am not greedy or profiteering but would like to get the best I can for the parts.
It is all about supply and demand but if its knackered then yes I agree it is a pi55 take, and you should do your research before hand.

My philosphy with the wagon I broke was if it isn't something you would refit to your car, bin it or give it away

That's the difference between breaking your pride and joy and breaking for profit. For the former you are just grateful to make some money back, the latter are pedaling average condition parts for nearly new prices.

I bought another car for its engine to put in my Hawkeye, but have found out the new car is well put together so have decided to keep it
I am trying it out on track late in June and if all goes well it will stay with me
This will mean all the bits on my well cared for Hawkeye will be up for grabs so yes it is something that I would fit to my new car Stu, the 6 speed being the main one. If I do Anglesey and don't like the 5 speed ppg then I will fit my 6 speed and keep it, otherwise it will be for sale

Like me and my WRX... I bought it for the 6 Speed to put in the wagon then decided to keep it and break the wagon For what it's worth I prefer your new one even with the marmite styling Defo keep the six speed it makes for a much better car IMHO and no worries about snatching 3rd and 2nd for trackday abuse I am on the hunt for a clutch for the 202 as I exploded my twin plate today lol

Overpriced breakers? Pah!

I just nick bits off other peoples' cars that I think will fit mine. It's what we all do here in the lawless North.

Banny I don't throw comments like that about without a reason, I've looked for the thread where he made a racist comment about black people but can't find it, Maz put him straight and i'm sure his search skills are better than mine and he could pull it back up and post it, or you could just call him and ask him for verification.

So back on topic.

Yes I am b!tching because like I said in my original post this is an enthusiasts website, we are here for our love of all things subaru but the breakers don't care about us or the cars, their only interest is how much money they can make out of us.

You and others may think because your linked with some of these breakers and they are all pally that they are doing you a favour and your friend,( not trying to insult your intelligence just making the point ) but it's all about the money and I don't like it when people make out like they are doing us all a favour taking our money, we the community are providing them and many others a good living which they might want to take into consideration when dealing with us.

Makes sense. Be fair. That's all I'm sayin'.

and I really doubt breakers are paying £6k for a car to break!
Exactly.

You obviously don't know me.

I'm pointing out the fact that we as a community are being taken advantage of, a point which is obviously too complexed for your limited intellect, let's leave it at that shall we.

I'm actually glad that so many are now being stripped for parts. Means that the ones left will go up in value and that there is a healthy 2nd hand spares market.

Same happened with a lot of cossies and many other classic cars.

Doubt it its that much but the point is why are we still paying almost 2k fr 12+ yr old parts.. This is why I still havnt bought a 6 spd box as I simply think its not worth the prices they are priced at. Bullet proof or not but I wnt be paying that price

Mine was 2100 ... 06 dccd box with diff, prop, linkage etc....

That was 5 years ago....

Bargain considering it has handled over 500hp with competetive use as well imo....
