I mean, he gets banned for a bit, he'll just have to bite the bullet and his own tongue and get on with it. He will whinge as usual in his Uruguayan language, but hey, we won't understand it, anyway. He'll get over it. I'm sure his president will mellow him down with a toke or two. LOL.

Still unforgivable TH, after all, Messi doesn't go around biting people and he gets far more "attention" on the park than the Tooth Fairy.

Oh, absolutely! No need for that. Mental issues need not become an excuse to get own way or harm others. Out of order, end of. Genius or no genius. He should be nailed for it.

I was being serious about his socks.

Here's a picture>

Now compare his socks to the other two players' socks. If he had lycra leggings on underneath, I'd have given him a benefit of doubt. But in fact they were his socks that he had them stretched above his knees. No other players wear socks as high as that.

Here as well he's the highest socks champion in his own team. Imo they look ridiculous. Either his shorts are too long or his socks are too high- one of them, anyway.

URU team was lost without their biter player yesterday. I wonder whether filing his massive front teeth would help in future. 22 YO Columbian kid Rodriguez was magic, so was Brazil's Neymar in his match. The way Chile faced the defeat was in such a fashion that anyone would salute to them for their mega effort till the very end. Very good match.

One of those things.

It can't be compared with the long term poor state of Football; the sport that is absolutely worshipped by the masses in Britain. Murray did bag a long-awaited dream victory for Britain last year on his tod. so I'm not really that disappointed with him.

C'mon Colombia! Do something, man! The curly haired Brazilian has even got the free kick in FFS! I think the long haired Columbian's goal should have been accepted imo, but the referee is a very intimidating and a "my way or highway" monster.

Well played, Brazil. Hope your Neymar gets better soon. They carried him away in a large cat litter tray, and he was crying a lot as well in pain.

EFA.

Sorry Turbohot, it's not, regardless of what the press tells us all.

Ok, SJ. So, what's the national sport for Britain, then? Or, let's narrow it down to England. What's the national sport for England? Is there one?

Wow big ole cricket.

If the ref hadn't felt guilt and given Brazil that free kick it could be very different

But what an awesome free kick it was though , unbelievable power

Cricket was big in the UK in the olden days. It's hardly the national fever now, is it?

Yeah, that Brazilian Luiz bloke with afro is like a stick puppet with 300 bhp. His hair is amazing.

I thought Rugby was Wales' pride and joy. English seem to be too sophisticated to play muddy Rugby. I may be wrong.

LOL I know! I saw it, and it was humungous! It sat on his right arm bun to congratulate him for his goal.

The boy was distraught after losing, though. Very good player IMO.

From http://www.funtrivia.com/askft/Question19921.html>

England doesn't have an official national sport. Two sports that were invented in England are Cricket and Association Football (Soccer). Of these, Soccer is far more popular.

The national sport of England is obstacle racing. People fill their rooms with useless and cumbersome furniture, and spend the rest of their lives trying to dodge it.
LOL

Since the Welsh conquest of Edward I, the longbow had been becoming increasingly important and numerous in the English armies of the day. Firing as many as 6 shots in a minute for sustained volleys, massed archery fire could begin to dwindle the numbers and resolve of an opponent starting at about 200 yards range. Over the next 100 years, the English longbow with its yard long arrow and armor-piercing bodkin point would give a striking arm to the little bands of brothers from England that would empty the saddles of knights from the low-countries, France and Italy. The hours of practice needed to master the powerful bows (some of which exceeded 120 pounds draw weight) made archery the national sport of England by royal decree.

Yet it is worth remembering that baiting bears and other animals by setting dogs upon them was the national sport of England for centuries, until prohibited by Puritan dictator Oliver Cromwell circa 1654. Cromwell banned baiting for the same reasons that the Taliban halted dogfighting, from a perception that it distracted the citizenry from prayer.
Wow! Didn't know that!

You know that 'we' are out for a picnic, but watch Tennis Doubles for some fantastic serves and amazing side line work. Pos and Soc are playing so well against Bry and Bry. Mike Bry's blue watch is cool!

Good question. His socks must have been ok, or I would have deffo noticed them.

Right. It's kicked off between Netherlands and Costa Rica. Let's see if the goalies are wearing ridiculously high socks or what.
