Saving themselves from winning? Despite ample possession? Very strange strategy imo. How is it like the French, though?

Welsh chanting is quite sonorous. Unlike English thuggish chanting.

I'm gutted for England. They must have tried their best. Never mind. It's just a game, at the end of the day. Innit.

Gotta love the amateur fair weather footy fans.

The euros has been ruined expanding it to 24 teams.

A lot of the eastern European teams are crap, this has caused very defensive games like last night with the whole team sitting behind the ball to avoid defeat.

The next round will be better as you need to win to progress.

England did all they could against such a negative team.

Very true and Wales put in one of the most defensive performances I'd seen for a long time!

It's hard to break down a team who Park 11 men behind the ball and have no intention of scoring. Again, we had a couple of chances and yet again poor finishing let us down but hey ho we're through to the next round where hopefully we get a team who wants to play!

I agree on Wales's performance being defensive. They might have won the Russians and put up a better show than England yesterday, their strategy doesn't look great. When I see some Welsh hard worker trying to score, he looks like a loner at his end. This last match should teach them to cover ther goal area better as they have the proof with Neil Taylor's goal how a swarm attack can ensure a score; instead of collective defence near the other side that they believe in. They need to believe in themselves more.

I reckon a few sessions under Joachim Low (can't do his surname properly) could make them into attacky bunch. Just a dreamy thought. I know that the tacky individual is devoted to his Germany.

I see , so the experts view is that our players were intimidated enough to not accurately pass the ball to each other / kick it an hope ........

hilarious

To be honest, if we defend our teams' defensive performances, it becomes an unhelpful parallel process. So, no, I don't think we can let them off. They need to up their game for sure.

On the whole the performance wasn't as bad as people are making out and the lack of passing accuracy was very poor from Wilshere and Henderson....Wilshere should of never been on the plane having hardly kicked a ball all season and Henderson is only there because he plays for Liverpool, he's an average player at best.

Hodgson showed all his cards during the Wales game when he brought on Vardy and Sturridge, it wasn't down to him being a tactical genuis it was more luck and he had nothing to lose because we were heading out.

If he had picked Carroll instead of Rashford he would of had another option lastnight in trying to break down a side who were happy to sit on their 18 yard box inviting us in hoping for a quick break....Chelsea won the flicking league like that!

At the end of the day we are through to the knockout stages...game on!

i watched the game with my mrs and she is like most of the posters on here, no fecking idea.

hodgson will get the sack unless they win it which they wont as now they will meet much better teams than they would if they won it.

second to a team of bale and championship players and couldnt beat two teams of eastern european yick yacks.

This man Orlando looks unreal. Like a plastic doll Action Man or a caked up Barbie's baked in Ken. He should make a children's film with a Barbie lookalike and he should play Ken in it. I'm sure children will love it.

Interesting clip, though. He must have been seriously p7ssed off to do that.

Wicked! Eng. do indeed get the fish-botherers, Iceland, in the next round!

If that wasn't the best news, we haven't lost to them in any major tournament.

There; I've just jinxed it.

Epic fail.
