dosenöffner - I know you weren't haveing a go just my dry (not cypriot dry) northern humour. You're not the only one who finds these comments amusing.

johnfelstead - nice to see you're enjoying yourself at my expense (only kidding) your sti is fantastic (boy can the wax wizrad work wonders) seriuosly worried when we meet my elitist, smug, overbearing, dry, arrogant attitude might be wiped away. Or worse might be catching.

Keep it up

It doesnt rain in Cyprus??
Well i was there for 3 years and trust me, when it rains in cyprus it really rains! and they have green grass too
Now a few more questions about your car
Is it a Yorkshire dealership or a Lancashire dealership as that exhaust looks like a jap innovations system and i only know of one dealer that has this type of system fitted to their STi7's.
Your leather is a factory option if im not mistaken?
The head unit aint though as it looks like a replacement unit from the uk.
Alloy strut braces are aftermarket as STi ones are normally carbon fibre.
Lowering springs are available for pretty much all scoobs so its not a problem to lower one
And one final question, when was the date of registration for your car????

I can not see why an official Subaru dealer would not supply one of these with the changes taking place of late. I had my IMPORT STI V2 serviced by an OFFICIAL Subaru dealer. The first time I went they said they were not allowed. Then two weeks later when I went in for parts they said they could now offer the service.

An official dealer in Surrey.

Talking

Craking Car Hawkeye.

I'm completely jealous 'cos I'm trying to work out how to buy an STi7....LOL.... With the big rear wing, it would be the dogs danglies

Don't think you are being elitist in the slightest m8. Just honouring a request to be discrete.

This is also one of the funniest threads I've read in ages

Well ive seen a few STi6's that have been serviced by UK dealers, mainly cos these were Prodrive cars beforehand so it could be one of these types of cars as Prodrive do get a full IM warranty on em

Apart from the leather seats (which look excellent) it seems nothing more than a tarted up UK spec Sti, If I take some badges of mine take some photos, start a little intrigue, can I start a 4 page thread????

Tony Burns,
Sorry for taking so long to answer your last questions.

Yes I can confirm it is either a Yorkshire or Lancashire dealer I bought it from. (Cloak & Dagger mode on)

The car was registered in June 2002.

Cheers Hawkeye.

Ps (Cloak & dagger mode off)

It was a Yorkshire Dealer!!

Thumbs down

Hawkeye,

Not pouring cold water, but hopefully useful advice.

Tony the car came from a franchised UK dealer, their name/postcode is not on the number plate as they are private plates. I had them made up myself.
Number plates must contain the suppliers identity.

See dvla website.

Which states under British Standard:

"The British Standard also requires that a number plate must be marked with the following information: -

The British Standard Number (currently BS AU 145d)
The name, trade mark, or other means of identification of the manufacturer or component supplier. (The company who actually make the number plate.)
The name and postcode of the supplying outlet. (The 'supplying outlet' is taken to mean a company whose business consists wholly or partly of selling number plates.)"

i.e. you do not have British Standard numberplates.

Let's be careful out there.

Yes, number plates must contain the identity of the supplier of the number plates not the supplier of the car

If hawkeye had them made up, they will contain the indentity of whoever made them up.

Carl,

You're quite right. Doesn't look the case from the photo, that's all.

Lots of police cars are therefore not complying with the law - have a look at the plates next time you're in traffic near one and you'll notice that they rarely, if ever, have either the name of the supplying dealer of the plate manufacturer.

D'you think I could make a citizen's arrent?

Surely its a standard STi7, official UK dealer enhanced, with a strict proviso that if the engine lets go make sure it gets back to aforementioned dealer before IM get anywhere near it

And ive said it before and i'll say it again, lose the awful Subaru and WRX badges off the back!!

Why oh why does everyone assume I didn't get the car from a genuine dealer. I got it from a UK Subaru Dealer - OK is that plain enough. They were genuine enough to show me a copy of the letter they go regarding enthusiastic demo-drivers. What they said was 4-5000 ish wasn't a problem for it. 6-7500 WAS. This would end in a how to run your car in debate. They give me the deal with the 3 year subaru warranty, I have respected everything else they said and therefore have taken this on board too.

Chiark - Don't worry I'll be in touch.

STi wanna Subaru - cheers mate

Dave TS - I'm not getting any boost spikes (i Presume) because it isn't decatted - as stated in the spec the centre cat is a different shape (ie a performance cat)

hawkeye.

Taking my car onto the track on friday for some driver training, as long as the Samco hoses come.

Then i'll be able to see what it was really meant to do.

What a blast,

Went down to Donnington on friday (25th) rained all morning and then dried up at lunch. Nice to see Docjock down there flying round.

For my first time I think I did reasonably well 1m 34s was my best lap time, how does this compare? It'd be interesting to see.

Got some awesome footage of my car against some real brutes.

Sample lineup 2x500+ bhp Escort cossies, 360 modena 911 turbo, GT2 Maserati 3200GT BMW M5 Escort Turbo Diesel?

The bit where we catch the 360 down pit straight and then take him round the following bend is probably my groundhog day, or was it not letting the Audi RS4 get away, or seeing and filming the Maserati driver Blow something as we went for it.

I couldn't believe the difference between the car in the wet and dry, very very UNPREDICTABLE in the WET but incredible in the DRY, the tyres and testament to that fact.

I even had the guy in the 911 turbo come over and ask what the hell is in that thing. Possibly due to me doing 135mph coming down to the chicane before pit lane and OUTBRAKING him in a cloud of brake dust. hehehehe. (cheers falkland the DS2500's do work)

Here's some more. There isn't much left to show now. The camera seems to have packed in. Will post what else I can for the moment.

Any comments/questions ask away.

hope you like.

Deep this isn't a standard exhaust.

Cheers Hawkeye
