With enough time and money virtually all things are possible.
I would consider a larger turbo, change the gear ratio in the gearbox and diff, a decent map, lightweight flywheel, carbon prop, flowed heads with ported inlet and exhaust manifolds, the list goes on..
It might be worth considering a different car to begin with to meet your needs. Rather than spending a fortune getting your existing one to the same level.
With the correct mods, a 300 + hp car with a few chassis and breaking upgrades is a very fun street car in my humble experience. Track cars are different....

on a serious note, get some decent brakes, decent suspension, good tyres and geometry set up.
then get a remap and maybe a slighlty bigger turbo and this will make a decent street car.
dont mess with silly twin turbo conversions or big power until the chassis is sorted as this is what makes a fast point to point car.

So may be a bigger turbo but its a g4 . So is that not ok. Then a remap. Not a chip. Got it

Twin scroll is how most manufacturers are going now (vw dont seem to be doing them yet though) but my last 2 2003 spec c's have both been twin scroll engines ( and my RCZ R ) and this reduces lag and gives you a better power band.
Basically the turbo has 2 ports on it which flow the gasses in, on a normal single scroll turbo, changing gear would "stop" the gasses (and the turbo would run down, best way to describe it but wiki has more info on it) and when you go back on the power the turbo needs to spool back up giving you lag.
The twin scroll car gets around this by having uneven gas intake so when changing gear it still has the gasses flowing into the turbo and keeping it spooled up.
Its not a cheap option as twin scroll turbos are expensive new but you can pick up a vf37 with all the other bits you need for the conversion from a breakers.
You will need the car remapping though and there is quite a bit of mechanical work involved (sump, manifold, dip stick etc) that need replacing.
