I'm gonna put my 2p worth in regarding this thread
And I've said it a million times but folk don't seem to get it
There are what we call pro mappers , and DIY
Then those that think they are pro but are really DIY and charge for the service

Now I don't care who you are pro , DIY or whatever
They all make mistakes , have off days or whatever you may call it
It's not fair to single one person out because All pro mappers have had an issue with a car or two , it's the nature of the business
The only way to get experience in mapping is map
And the named ones have mapped a lot
That's not to say every single pro mapper will achieve absolute perfection every single time
Not one of them
At the end of the day they are human
If your not happy and think you can do it better then do it yourself
If you want to pay less go to a DIY ( pseudo pro ) mapper
If you want the best chance of a good map first time use a named pro
But none of the above is a 100% guaranteed perfection 100% of the time

hello mate, hope your keeping well.

No room for change here mate as it's difficult to improve on perfection.

Either that or like you I'm too old to and set in my ways to change now.

Granted all make mistakes, i must of said this about 10 times, but to overlook a basic fundamental basic setting to me is, well, ignorant. The new ESL board software is very user friendly so to me, the software does alot of the work and interpreting the feedback is merely a case of basic mechanics.

I might sound a bit over critical here but surely if you are paying TOP dollar for a good map then you have a right to expect it to be 100%

The question is how , why and who interprets the feedback makes mapping a little subjective
Often is the case that a customer will request to see as much power as poss at the cost of things like reliability or emmisions
Some times some folk will be willing to do the opposite

You are paying your money for a map , is it the map you wanted , is it a bad or unsafe map ,

There are too many variables in issues like this
Unless it is what is considered a poor unsafe map then I wouldn't single out individuals

You start messing and this is what happens
It's nothing new for a car to start acting like a pig , can happen on the day it can happen a week after

Sorry I've not read through the whole thread but if the car had running issues why wasn't that picked up on the day

I like how you've pointed out where I said I've not read all the thread
Which is quite ironic , because if you would have bothered to read my past threads and got off your **** and done it yourself in the beginning you wouldn't be whinging on about your woes now
And secondly if you wasn't happy after the initial map and subsequent maps thereafter why on earth did you pay

No wonder I havnt got the time nor patience for this place anymore

Is your car a Newage ? Duncan can put LC on it , and he did it at no extra cost during the mapping for me

A good map in my eyes is a safe map (no det) maximum safe power (if not achievable due to mechanical circumstances then advice on what is required), car fully working at the end and excellent customer services

probs missed a few things as well

Map should be going over all settings and features and actually setting them up and going over all map
I've seen some maps just few pulls in 4th on dyno done in 20mins that can't really be sure what all loads are doing
I've started tweaking mine myself now

No such thing as maximum safe power. Even without det the engine will be stressing more components and increasing the potential for component or engine failure.

Any owner that has their car mapped should understand the risks to the engine and car.

Don't get me wrong, I also believe a bespoke map can increase an engines longevity if driven sensibly as the map will calibrate all the sensors and components to optimise the overall system.

Indeed, maximum safe power is misguided and for pub talk. It's the area under the lines that's important. What you want is sustainable and usable performance commensurate with the car's specification.
