Indeed. The best (and in my opinion) the ONLY piece of advice you need to heed when tuning a car is

"You play, you pay" It's just a question of when and how much.

There is no such thing as bulletproof or 100% safe and anyone who says otherwise is living in la la land. It's a game of odds; you can (and should if you have more sense than money, that is) stack the odds in your favour to a certain extent by using the best parts and the best people, but you're still rolling the dice.

When I was getting my build done, guess what part let me down?? An RCM part .......yes, I'll say that again, an RCM part!! The purpose of telling you this is to illustrate that even the best in the business unintentionally occasionally knock out a duff item or two! I was lucky, it was a component that caused no damage, just inconvenience ..... had it been a fuel/oil pump, it would have been a different story.

And that's before you consider the biggest nut in the equation: the one behind the wheel!

As mentioned previously, a lot of what you pay for is the knowledge, not the time, and I'd prefer a Consultant to sort out a medical problem rather than a GP (no disrespects to either obviously).
I can earn about £1,200/hr, charging around £300 per time.
A client's quite happy to pay £300, and 4 of them would be.
However, I wonder if that would change if they all thought 'hang on, he's making £1,200 for an hour'?

I agree that if you're paying 'pro prices' you should expect 100% pro service and results - and guarantees.

Be careful tho'.

I picked up one client because he tried to do something himself, and potentially cost himself £4,000.
Nothing easier than filling in a form is there??????
£250 later he found himself £2,500 better off.

Try it yourself by all means, but be careful because you're going where you haven't before, and if it goes wrong it's not just a pro remap you might need.

Just seen some unwarranted comments re. this post.

The art of written communication is to convey to the reader what was intended, thought etc.
The above post did that in my case (as hopefully my reply showed).

People who "cant understand most of it" presumably don't have the capacity - or certainly much less of a capacity - to a) determine the possible options to spelling mistakes; and b) make the appropriate substitution, thereby bringing it back within the extremely narrow parameters they require in order to understand things.

After all, I managed to work out that "cant" is most likely to bethe abbreviated form of 'cannot' but with the apostrophe mistakenly omitted.

After all, someone's not likely to call themselves a **** (sic) are they, even if ? *

(Intentionally left blank, for someone else to fill in ).

Fine, I give up.
You plainly don't want to hear what I'm saying. I'm trying to look at a wider picture, whereas you are focused on your own efforts.

But back to the original theme of this thread, and for the record, Duncan is a great mapper in my opinion, but other mapping practitioners are available should you feel the need to look elsewhere.

No - the A40.

Oxford (by-pass), Cheltenham, Gloucester, Monmouth, Abergavenny (an 'Aber' - welcome to Wales ) etc.

And there's no highwaymen asking for your hard-earned either.

You never know - might arrange a rendezvous one day.
An event like 'the Meet in the Middle'.

I have looked and used elsewhere thanks

If you are looking at the big picture then you would realise duncan is not a great mapper but instead you also are more focussed on your own efforts, quite hipocritical imo.

Its not that i dont want to hear what you are saying more to the point that we both have our opinions and they differ.
