If im honest mark if theres no financial benefit to you selling privately id let J have it, but make sure you get a confirmation that the finance company no longer have any financial interest in the car and receipt of sale which I know wont be an issue as you have dealt with him before..
At the end of the day pal id go with the easier option..

For mixman..You could settle the finance by debit card directly, but again, get a confirmation that its been done and the finance company have no financial interest in it.. Once the transaction is complete it does take a week or 2 for the credit marker on a HPI report to dissapear as they update records twice a month IIRC.(I work in a main dealer and have had credit markers removed before, after we have settled finance off for customers)

At the end of the day its up to you to make your minds up what you wanna do..

You've sent me 11 PM's, one every ten minutes or so, give me a chance- I don't live on the net! Do you really expect me to just send you £4200 on the back a couple of messages in the hope that I get the car, with no finance, just on your word?

Well all you can do is try bud...if people don't understand or appreciate what your trying to do then that's not your issue..all you need to worry about is getting the car gone so you can get this other one..
If it's to a forum member then they get a bargain,happy days for them and you get it gone.
If it goes to J then you get it gone,happy days for you either way..even if it is for less than you hoped for.you still get your other car..

Well if you wanted it you'd have bought it.... Mark was clear all along what was happening. He said days ago it was off to the dealer on Thursday if no one bought it as he had a new car to pick up! Today is Thursday so guess what?

 

No, there more to it than that. No problems with the seller at all, but if I'd bought it I would have been sleeping in it.

It just wasn't worth the grief.
