Classic on pistonheads

When I first looked I expected to see an "engine built by" addition to the ad purely because of the time someone has taken to remove and paint the manifold. Not that you have to rebuild if you paint the manifold lol, more like maybe it was painted/seal changed etc when the engine was out.

Dont like this bit, think its complete b0ll0cks!!
Just cant see how you could buy a WRX from a Subaru dealer(even in Japan) and ask the dealer to put STi internals, suspension, turbo and alloy bonnet on to your WRX!!!
At the factory this car was put together for an individual as a WRX with all the Sti upgrades to suspension, engine internals, turbo, alloy bonnet, together with sunroof, cruise control and the yellow fabric interior.

The fact it has cruise control with a factory steering wheel with the control buttons built in, is it impossible to have had the other options on the build sheet ?.
As for the S204 you speak the car is a 56 plate so quite feasible that the STi limited ended up the final Euro spec that came on a 07 plate. This was a JDM A line spec with a 2.5 engine. You will be telling us next there is a joker with a white P1.
For what its worth I think its a pretty sorted car and worth the asking price IMHO.

Read it 10 times over mate, thinking that I have missed a fully forged engine re-build, which would then warrant the £6,2k price tag!!
Guess what, There isnt one!!!
I see that the car has had STi upgrades from the Factory including the engine Yeah right, So STi take a WRX put there STi parts on and then leave it badged as a WRX. Sounds nearly as good as the UK S204 story thats for sale on pistonheads at the moment!!!

You can get a version 5 and 6 WRX's, ive known a few friends to have owned Version 5 WRX Type R's and Type RA's.
A white P1 you must be on drugs!!! (actually I do know it was the P1 prototype)
Still think anyone to buy this car would need some sort of proof that it has STi internals etc, and not by word-say from previous owner which I feel would be the outcome if asked
Ive never have know Subaru dealers to spec a car like some of the prestige manufacturers like BMW/Audi, they have special individual programs where you can choose special colours etc, but your talking some of the cars are £50-60k and not a £28k Jap car!!
Ive been to Subaru dealers and you get what ever colour they have as a option, and no way in hell would they change a colour for a customer, but then again the option list is not as big as some of these german manufacturers!!!
You buy new from a dealer, guess what you can request pretty much what you want, take BMW you can request any colour you want, interior spec colour etc , they call it Individual and its only a hundreds of pound extra.

This car was spec'd from the factory and he probably had to wait a few months for it, factory fitted cruise control with steering wheel controls should tell you all you need to know, I'll wager there's not more than a handful that have it.
I'll also wager he has the paperwork to back it up.

Definitely not for you with that attitude.

Same goes for this car, its a 15 year old Impreza WRX, nothing special, but with a 6 speed box, if you think its worth £6,2k then maybe I can interest you with some magic beans I have for sale!!
If you had to go for a sorted classic then what about this one??? Forged engine and a 6 speed box in a STi Type RA £6k

It's a good spec for sure, the rest is 6 and two threes, but I prefer the grey one, I like the colour, sun roof, cruise control, Ap's and bilstien suspension.
And the discrete overall look (from the outside) as well as it having the swirl pot and baffled sump, would suit me down to the ground, if it was a wagon i'd probably move heaven and earth to own it.

You big tart you only like the car because of the colour!!! Sound like my missus!!

That RA isn't an STi RA.. I don't see any roof vent.. therefore not that much more special than that 15 year old WRX ;-) besides it looks like hell. Sure putting sensible sized wheels on it and ditching the nasty bumper it could be brought back, but really you'd be buying that car for the engine and box, the grey one is a far more complete package.
Imo if all is as it seems and there's paperwork to back up the original options, plus the body is solid the grey car is worth the asking, as is the RA to the right person.. the only issue for both of them is they're sitting on tidy Type R money (just about), and any WRX is going to need something special to compete for buyers attentions unless you really wanted a 5 door.
Anyway good to see this car has sparked so much debate! I'm sure the owner would be proud lol
