But yes I do find the Israel/Palestine war very very depressing. I am not looking forward to the 100 year anniversary of WW1 as that can only be full of memories of kids getting slaughtered

I have to be honest here I am amazed that others have not been banned too as Ian may have reacted but what others said was unforgivable too.
I guess it's a case of a slightly skewed judgement here, the best thing to have done would have be banned all of them, instead of the easy target.

And people wonder why this site is dying a slow death.

I was banned for a month a little while ago for what I still consider to be no good reason, but they decided otherwise and I had to suck it up and accept it.

Its not all bad these forums Lisa, I've met some good friends through this one, take last weekend we all competed at totb as a team and this friendship came from fight club on here where you basically try and wind each other up.
We even chatted to a strange Geordie man lol

You are bang on with the rest of what you say. I wouldn't have met a lot of my current friends had it not been for here, so it does have it's good points. Sadly I missed you at the weekend.

+1
As I've said before, some people post on here in a way they would never talk in real life.
Perhaps that's what it is, a frustration in their real life that forces them to behave in such a way on internet forums. A release perhaps?

In the past when I had a row with some chap I was immediately PM'd the persons full name and address by someone else they'd pissed off. Not that I wanted it, but it obviously happens.

It's just a guess but if Ian didn't report other's and then decided to just take his own action, that could of been the reason why only he was banned.

F1 is well aware he shouldn't have gone so far as to make the retarded comment, but there is a big difference between making a not very well thought out comment and starting multiple threads calling other users nonces. Therefore, people were not dealt with in the same way.
And when it was reported is relevant considering the comment Chris has just made, that you replied to. You make the suggestion we were pointed in the direction of that comment at the time Ian was dealt with. Ian, nor anyone else reported the retard comment at the time, if that had have been done, we as mods might have had a fighting chance of calming things down before it went so far.

Who is to say whether action was taken or not?

The appropriate action hasnt been taken against F1_fan because he is still a member of scoobynet.
1. If F1_Fans comment was noted as being offensive then why was it not deleted afterwards?
2. F1_Fan has been banned before, does it appear that he has learnt his lesson from his previous ban?.
3. As a parent calling someone's child retarded is just as bad, if not worse than calling someone a peadophile.
4. Why exactly is F1_Fan, regardless of anyone elses actions, not banned for this comment?
