Not sure if there metal or fiberglass arches???
But you can get fiberglass S6 replica arches only from the US from here for around £1,800!!

That's a crazy price for just replica wings , I just bought replica wings for £190 each , a mate just prepped and painted them and they look very good , a few area's he needs to spend a bit more time making them mint , so i'm going to fit them first , then get him to repaint them , and the bumper , it cost me £680 for the bumper and wings.
I have been thinking about making a replica WRC car for a while , as they do look stunning , the OP's car is perfect , but unfortunately for him I don't think he will get what he's looking for ,

I think the £17k Type R looks stunning, easy the best looking classic Ive seen and the guy has done a superb job, but £17k is a lot of money for a Type R with wide arch kit!!
I nearly bought a Type R rolling shell years ago with S6 WRC kit on, trouble was the guy wanted £3.3k and I was only willing to go £2.5k, the shell was unpainted and I wanted it as a project, it was for sale for about 2-3 months on E-bay!!
Ended up giving up and bought a cheap white Version 4 Type R, and a day after buying the Type R i got a messgae from the guy saying I could have the S6 WRC kitted shell for £2.5k

I'm on the nice car but £17k is a lot of money side of the fence.
Again I fear a lot of those doing the shouting would't actually part with the money for this car if they had it.

I bought a Golf rally car a couple of years ago , brand new build which had done less than 100 miles , the guy had spent over £35k building it , done his **** and had to sell stuff ( car sales being hit by the recession ) and had advertised it for £20k , bringing the price down and down , I seen someone mention it on a rally forum , I went up that afternoon and paid his asking price of £10k !! it was an absolute bargain.
I have since had a 250hp engine built amongst other stuff and put another £10k into it , I have advertised it at £17k and not a sniff ,
ahem , there is a bit of swearing at the end lol

There's alot of talk on here about the 22B arches and yes id admit while the look is appealing the price is off putting. . . i have a type R which has slight rust on one of the rear arches and the 22B look is just calling me but i cant decide to go with a simple repair or full blown 22B replica!! money isnt an object its just forking out that cash that is haha

Jesus you don't expect to see a car door coming towards you , I bet he crapped himself , see he tried to duck lol
that was me telling the nav to calm down , he had a right panic on because he couldn't get out , think he's been watching too many movies where the cars explode after clipping a wheel on the curb lol

Tbh this is very very hard to price much much better than the grey 1 i had but not a 22b but its not trying to be this car is prestine in and out and i mean fresh built from the ground up.
So like a few of you said alot of money for a wide arched type r but to me its alot more than that.

22b arches aren't really a problem, ABW and HT Auto's do them in fibreglass. The whole kit with front bumper and front wings is just over £1k. You'd be lucky to get one rear arch in WRC S5/6 shape for the that money. For me the 22b wings don't sit wide enough and I love the way the S5/6 arches sit higher above the rear wheel.

Yep good point, I meant to say this earlier with all the comparisons to a 22b arched cars, I remember in the build thread some pics coming up of HT Autos or similar kits on the same page as pics of Colins car, it's when you see them together you realise how much better the WRC arches are compared to 22b, the two cannot be compared, it's like comparing ABW arches to the 22b kits, yes OK they all constitute to a 'wide arch' impreza, but its wrong to view them as remotely similar.
Even if like Ian you manage to get yourself some arches for a decent price, by the time you've had a decent bodyshop make them fit nice/ paint the whole car I'd say you'd have spent what a good type R costs alone by the end of it, then factor in your base car, and the mods suitable to do the car justice and you'd never build it for 17k, unless of course you can do everything yourself!
At the end of the day this is pretty much a unique car, which would be very hard to replicate fully and to this apparent standard.
Still think it's worth the asking.. actually surprised Cheshire haven't bought it..

just seen this thread while reminiscing about the car. surprised i missed it at the time. 17k was a high asking price, i knew this. It was a very difficult car to value. I added up what it cost and took 5k off it and started from there. i wasnt going to sell cheap as this car is as rust free as youll ever get and was a fresh build. I sold the car in may 2015 for less. I hope the new owner is still happy with it.
