No, not yet mate only decided this week I was changing my equal manifold back to an unequal one as since my latest remap - in 1st under high boost I have been feeling a judder in the steering wheel, took it to DLM in darlington and he showed me the uppipe is pressing down on the steering Colum under high load, so the end result is to remove the nasty cheap one and replace with a standard STi one which I hope will give me a little more power as the current uppipe has a small leak on the flex section

Ah i see, yeah ive also read about the stock up pipe snaping into the turbo. I hate horror stories lol... Also what is worrying me is my Leon was dynod at evotune at 196bhp and 230lbs of torque and it feels more aggressive than the Scooby does? Could this be the low boost issue?

100% the low boost issue

Don't panic you will be near or over 300 bhp upon a remap (don't hold me to it but I would expect that)

Do yourself a favor don't read these forums nor the Internet

You will be constantly in a panic for no reason lol

Another tip just drive steady until that remap, evotune will tell you what you have and hopefully will take out that manual boost controller for you

The devil is right, if you read and believed all you had absorbed then you'd sell the Subaru tomorrow. Yes there a issues with some parts on Subaru's, but like any other marque all have weak spots, it's just that Subaru owners and garages/racers along with many have a done a lot of research (test>break>learn>modify>result) then shared and published findings. Some folk unfortunately don't have a reasonable understanding publish their results when they are either flowed, bogus, or damaging on what would be true or the right way of doing something.

This is quite a useful site http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php

On a plus side, you have started in the right place, let's see the results from Evotune, and remember that this forum can point you in the right place for exceptional work at very affordable prices, so don't feel the need to instruct Evotune to undertake any work required.

I can also recommend DLM if it's feasible to you, I had many dealings with Harvey (rip), and he and Darren made a very good duo. If your prepared to travel I'd recommend Cams Performance near Blackburn.

Thanks for the time taking to help me i appreciate it, for 300bhp is it pretty much the mods that the guy actually said was on the car? What is the common figure that the wrx turbo actually makes?

If the turbo is a TD04, it will be highly unlikely to see anything over 275bhp

Top mount knocking or leak is common, easy fix or upgrade so no worries there. STI Suspension is seen as an upgrade for a WRX and is so cheap to do.

......waiting on verdict from Evotune

Yup and for 350bhp on a wrx gearbox your only injectors and a turbo away from it

You will have fun once car is sorted

Yes/no.

You'll have to take it out of the tank to see, it's easy to do (20 min job)
  • Take back seats out, bottom part first with three 13mm bolts I think, then top part with similar bolts that were hidden under the bottoms you have removed Remove
  • Remove an carpet etc out of boot
  • Remove fuel pump cover in boot (drivers side) behind the seats you've just removed with Philips screw driver
  • Unbolt carriage assembly to fuel pump (6mm nuts I think)
  • Remove earth off car battery
  • Remove electrical and fuel lines from carriage (took out of way, under inner skin of boot)
  • Lift out assembly with a slight twist to ensure it comes out smoothly
  • You'll see pump, it will have marking on it

Ps : pink injectors are not necessary sorry, I was still thinking you had a VF34 turbo which are capable of well in excess of 350bhp which the blue injectors wouldn't support.
