Serious question - is there a biological test for Frank/Kelly's condition, and if not, wouldn't it all things considered not have been a more sensible alternative for him/her to get counseling (or whatever other help might be relevant) to feel more comfortable living as the gender he already was?
Sexuality dilemma is not a 'condition'. Counselling/Psychotherapy to change something like that would be like that Conversion Therapy that Christian counsellor was providing to treat the 'gay' condition. She was struck off the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy for being anti-gay. Even her friends in high places could not get her membership reinstated.
FAO anti-transgender brigade:
If you people hear the life stories of transgender people, you may develop some empathy to them. That may also be ineffective tbh. The day you find out that your son/daughter is born with his/her soul trapped in a wrong body (gender-wise), then you may understand or just remain either traumatised or be disgusted to cruelly chuck them out on the street.
Almost every day I hear people wanting to die for people like you laughing at their struggle with their sexuality, and at their change they make for themselves to live on.

Must be hard being born in the "wrong body". I don't know much about it but I don't think this is something to be made fun of. You've got to admit she's got some.........front going into Celeb Big Brother.
Good Luck to her, I hope she finds contentment and happiness in her life

I have refrained from posting thus far due to the delicate nature of the thread.
I can see both sides of the discussion and was also amused by some of the comments, because I possess a childish sense of humour on such matters, which in my experience does help someone in this situation.
I'm in the live and let live camp, I'm sure there aren't many people that would choose to feel this way, having watched a very close friend battle with his sexuality and society's expected norms for many years, it's not something i'd wish on anyone. I also believe it to be a genuine condition having seen something similar up close and personal, my friend really is a female born into a male body, he is however quite manly due to his social conditioning and desire / battle to try and be what he was born as, so no frocks or operations for him, thankfully as he's not pretty. which is a comment he'd laugh at also.
At the end of the day we are what we are and there's bugger all we can do about it other than try to get through life as best we can, those of us who do not have such afflictions should consider ourselves very lucky indeed, a modicum of compassion wouldn't go a miss either, that said however I do think the ability to have the good old English sick sense of humour does help and shouldn't be frowned upon.

What saddens me, and it may be the sceptical part me, is that this all seems to have come out right in time for crappy BB. I didn't know he/she was going to be on that until this thread as it's not something that interests me.
I don't have an opinion on the person as I'd never even heard of him until now, and I'm very much in the live and let live camp, and had this story come out for no other reason than him just being honest with the public (before anyone else got the chance to 'out' him), then I'd say good for him/her, but the timing just doesn't sit well. I can't help but feel this has surfaced now due to CBB's desire to cash in on putting someone 'controversial' into the house/his willingness to cash in on being different.
That all isn't meant as a disrespect, but I can't help feeling like the only reason he's going in the house is because he's decided now to unveil he's living as a woman. Would he be on there had he still just been Frank Maloney?
I'm personally supportive of people being true to themselves, and not hiding away. However, given the timing of this, I can't help but feel it does a little bit of a disservice to the average person going through the same sort of situation.
