still no car :(

Personally I have always sort of not minded if a car has got a few little dents or scratches as I see it as making my mark on the car. Also it's a good bargaining point. If it was me I'd look for one nice not concourse but nice and then spend my time and a little money on making it mint over 6 months or so. Getting dent devil out one month then chips away next month then give it a detailing etc etc then and only then will you know every little nook and cranny of your tidy mowder car.
You get me?

I've been looking at mk2 escorts for ages now as a car I can have as a project. However the reality is they are just too expensive so it's either double my budget or realise it's not going to happen. If you haven't got the budget for all your requirements then either ease up on them or face facts.

makes no difference how many of you tell me to stop being picky because im not going too, I fully intend to keep with tradition and own very low millage mint cars.. my last 3 imprezas have been just that..ask the lads that bought them off me. going off the fact that ive already owned such cars I know they are out there so im not going to give up. why do you all keep saying to up my budget ? im not sticking with £7500 because that's what I want to spend, its because that's all ive got! obviously if I was able to up my budget then I wouldn't be here on this thread would I, ide own one by now!
so ill say it again.. its pointless replying with 'stop being picky, up your budget, you wont find what you want with my budget, don't worry about millage ect ect' because I want what I want simple as that. there maybe a car available soon, its not a blobeye but ive said already that im open to others.. its very low millage sti well within my budget and a minter but the car isn't available yet so ill keep looking in the meantime.

If you don't want people's opinions then why start the thread.
2-3 yrs ago your budget would of got a mint blob, but not now. Supply and demand states the price.
Anyone looking to put their car up for sale will check the usual places and see the prices, then put there's at a similar price.
Any of the cheap cars are getting snapped up by either traders or breakers.
There will be a bargin out there but you'll have to jump on it in the first few hours it's advertised.

I know of a blobeye, 54plate but with the widetrack. Its absolutely spotless and has the lowest milage I know of for a Blob, around 24000. Lives in a garage and the owner is a top guy. Unfortunently the price is out of your budget by around 1k so of no use.
For me this shows that the cars are out there with everything you want, but you are only slightly under budget.
Good luck and keep searching.

Farting around for five months over a few hundred quid means you're not driving the car you seem to want a lot, and wasting your time looking IMO.
You'll either be waiting a whole while longer or be lowering your standards if you want to be out on the road having fun

17 black FTW.
You need to lower your standards or up your budget.
Just kidding mate, hold out for what you want pal, otherwise you won't enjoy it.
I'm not fussy about cars and couldn't give a toss about cosmetics, mine has scrapes on each corner of the rear bumper and a few car park door dings, the way I look at it is if it was immaculate and someone gave me a ding or hit it i'd want to jump out rip their head off and **** in the stump so it's better that my daily is a bit of a shed, I also don't mind the dog jumping in the back or putting a bag of cement or washing machine in it either, always make sure they are tip top mechanically though.

Just like you are wasting a lot of peoples time on here. You don't have enough cash for a super mint one. End of. So it is pointless for anyone to spend anymore time looking on your behalf.
Fine, don't up your budget and don't buy the car, I really couldn't care less.
I'd love a mint R33 GTR for £8k but it isn't going to happen.

I had a budget just like the Op & finally found what I wanted but it takes time which carries its own challenges!
Having said that I do agree that prices of classics in good condition are creeping up which means either one has to wait longer for the right car to show up or increase the budget.

They do crop up, so it is just a waiting game.
Yes the budget could be higher, but then simply wait until one crops up that fits the bill, but you'll need to be quick and prepared to travel with these "specialists" snapping them up for a quick buck.
One thing I'd like to share that I think you may need to be more aware of, is if the "ideal car" comes available at the top of your budget, what happens a month later if it needs £500 of work? The only reason I say this is because it's happened to me several times, I had a bugeye running 430bhp, it pretty much skinted my available funds to get it to where it was, then during a Grudgment day (2 drag) the brand new clutch that I bedded in for 500 miles previously let go and I simply didn't have £500 spare to replace it

and yes, I do have the budget for a super mint one I just need to wait as ive proven before
how did I expect it to go?
30 seconds... I have much to learn about wasting time!

im far from wasting my time looking as ive proved before with my previous cars..all exactly what I was looking for and within my budget at the time so again that's a statement that makes no sense.

I think the OP's point of the thread was to hope that someone who has been down on their luck, maybe lost their job or something of the like wanted to sell him their car at WAY below market value out of desperation.
Unfortunately, at some point, someone, somewhere will be silly enough to sell it cheap, but personally I hope the OP wins it more than the likes of Cheshire Performance, as much as I despise them, at least they are raising the value of the resale market to a decent amount for private sellers.
I think the actual selling levels of Cheshire Performance shows that there is a market for what these cars are worth. Many members on Scoobynet believe things should be free
