It would be any word ending in "ist" that can be used to describe the perception that you are picking on all of those involved in failing to deal with this, so you can't do it, we'll just have to cover it up.

Absolutely.

Their fear of being called 'racist' is bullsh7t. It's these people who have played the 'racist' card here, before the perpetrator can even flash it; to avoid the trouble of whistle blowing regarding something as horrific as this. It was their duty of care towards those children that they didn't comply with. They need to answer why. No race is above the law.

Police and/or social workers, I refuse to buy that 'keeping your mouth shut due to the fear of being called racist' argument.

Thanks to the report maker to highlight not just the race in majority involved in committing those crimes but also to put it in black and white how these 'responsible' and qualified post holders try to save their jobs by being party to such crimes, and give such bullsh7t excuses. Baggers belief!

Where I grew up in Nottingham close to the city centre there were 3 care homes and all the kids went to the various local schools, most of them were always in trouble and many of the girls went into prostitution, i'm pretty sure a lot went on to jail too. It would be interesting to find out the percentage of kids that have been in care that go on to end up in prison, i'll wager it's rather large.

I worked in one that was at the bottom of Sherwood Rise near to the Goose Fair roundabout, in the mid 80's.

Spent about 4 weeks painting it around the 'inmates'.
It was a pretty desperate place and I often think what the kids there went onto become.

Never have I had so much abuse thrown at me or stuff stolen.
And that was just the staff.

In my day there were two on Woodborough road and one behind Marple square, I went to Elms School as did a lot of the kids from both of the ones on Woodborough Rd. It's no surprise to me about the kiddy fiddling the kids that came from those places were never right and way too sexually advanced for their years.

Lol edge of Forestfields, Hyson green and St Anns, trust me their fooked, and your lucky you lived to tell the tale.

Jesus I know the one you mean, close to the red lion and a couple of other pubs, it's forest fields and a propper scumof the earth type place, quite a new building too.

I was born and bred on the edge of Basford - (we liked to say Sherwood as it was classier in the early 70's ) and spent my youth with kids from the areas you mention.

The home I worked in was actually a massive old Victorian house opposite the petrol station.

Seems it's not confined to just a certain section of the community.

The question is, was this guy a lone-wolf type operator, or part of an organized gang systematically grooming and bullying vulnerable kids into a life of underage sexual promiscuity? These are two very different things, and it's pretty clear that it's the latter of the two which forms the mainstay of what the Rotherham report is based on, and where the very close association with a particular community is found.

I think I know the place you mean, I think it had a big garden and was one of the Watson Fothergill properties along there, did you go to Claremont?

In those days I lived near the Arboretum and used to go through the old train tunnel at the back of that petrol station to vic centre, climbing out was fun ah the good old days.

That sounds like the one.

I actually went to Haywood (now demolished thankfully!), but my then best mates both went to Claremont around 1980-85 ish.

Also used to play in the tunnel at the back of Sunblest on Hucknall road.

Then you'd have known my brother as he's the same age as you and also went there.

I'll throw a few names at you via pm....
