Found it later when throwing the rubbish out. Guess who? Citylink!
That's odd, the driver could of took it home with no comeback.

Could have indeed! I guess I was just lucky and very thankful for it. Really though, if it was to be investigated properly, the signature on the POD wouldn't match mine at all.

Maybe in the case of the missing turbo here, Citylink should provide a copy of the signature on their records to the buyer and seller? The buyer could then show his driving licence/passport signature to see if it's anywhere near the same.

does anybody know the exact law? i know we are all saying that asb should step up blah blah blah but what is the ACTUAL law regarding items not recieved BUT there is a signature?

i ordered something from ebay earlier this year and didnt receive it but it was signed for by somebody called nigel,no in my household there is me (matt) my mrs (pretty sure her name isnt nigel) and my 3 cats (again none of them called nigel)

my neighbour is called jason and the other side at the time was empty.all the seller said was that it was signed for and that was that-luckily the bloke called nigel who signed for it bought it to my door as it was delivered to his house-he lives 20 houses up from me but the package was marked with my number- WTF

can paypal refuse a refund based on the fact that it has a signature even though its not jamies?

does it have to be the person on the package who has to sign for it?

surely there must be guidelines for this

Yet another bad experience I had was selling my phone on eBay. Used special delivery as well. The buyer himself actually did sign for it but then claimed he didn't get it a week later. The trouble I had from paypal was ridiculous. Thy took the money back until I could prove that I actually dropped the item off at the post office with a receipt. The signature and tracking number apparently wasn't worth a shyte.

Just become a courier mate seems the way to go? If someone isnt in and keep the parcel for yourself and sign in there name. Its a joke really. Nearly a week on and i have no idea where i stand.

Pi55ed off is an understatement

That's what the buyer of my phone was doing. I forgot to mention he also left me positive eBay feedback saying how great it was and fast delivery etc. Luckily I know the post office manager and was able to get proof of postage. If I hadn't had that I was fooked. No phone and down £200 odd. The buyer seems to be favoured even if they're trying to rob you! So, being the dutiful person that I am, i reported the phone stolen and had it barred

In terms of PayPAl..

in my vast experience of this, even with the signature, PayPal and Ebay will go with the buyer there is a rare occasion in the past when an actual English Customer support worker has dealt with the claim and they see the obvious fraud, or issue, but with eBays and Paypals new marketing strategy and 180 money back guarantee, the future is bleak if you take payment through PayPal.

The courier companies dont want to know as they have a 'signature' and you, the seller has to take the loss.

I have used ASB now for quite a number of items, and every time I have received everything I have asked for. I have never had any problems at all, and they have always been well priced too
