So on that assumption most impreza's are fooked? As with your reckoning of £1k ish to get the work done, which it won't be, who's going to pay that to rectify the rust issue? No one.

People asked the question and the seller giving incorrect advice isnt my fault
Most imprezas of this age are completely buggered because they are all rusty in the arches, thats why it is hard to find a good one these days, just do a little searcha nd you will see very clearly the issues with arch rust on classics and the work involved to rectify it....

Just to prove a point -
https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...-problems.html
Rear repair sections from Subaru are £300+ not inc VAT etc....
So your options are hash up what is there, which wont solve the problem and you will be cutting out the arches again in a year or so times. Or fix it properly with new sections and seal the appropriate parts....
Your 1k wont get you very far if both sides need doing will it (Which they will)

No both sides don't need doing and the side that has isn't what your making it out to be!
Your giving all these quotes and you haven't even seen it properly, I work at a garage with a body shop and they have told me what needs to be done so I'll stick to the experts advice thanks.

Link to the car I sold last year, the car had no major issues as I put in my original post.
The seller asked for opinions on whether his car was overpriced and I replied based on personal experience.
If the car is worth £3495 someone will buy it at the asking price, to me that is about double what I would pay for an 18 year old near standard WRX with the first signs of rust on the rear quarter.
It looks very tidy in every respect and best of luck with the sale.

Yeah I do see what your saying but it's just hard to price as there are so many pieces of **** out there for sale, it's up for £3395 on pistonheads now and I will take sensible offers.
The rust is really not major I may even have it done.

Stick to your guns mate. Yes, there is the start of the dreaded iron oxide, but if you are confident it is only a small amount, then you are spot on with your price in my opinion.
In fact, the shut a few people up on here, I would personally, sort the rust and then put it back up for £3500.
Good classic prices are on the up. Unfortunately, an early WRX such as yours is low on the market demand list, but this time a couple of years ago, I reckon you would have struggled to get £2k.

Yeah I know the stis are deffinitely worth more but it's just the condition that makes it worth the money. I'd sooner keep it then let it go cheap.
I am in the market for a civic type r so if anyone has one let me know.
