MY02 STi Type Euro, knock in left rear but only seems to happen under extreme circumstances- big holes, hard cornering and I put it down to the shock bottoming out but this makes me wonder.

Just got the car back having had both top mounts changed and the problem is, if anything, worse.
Dealer has said the same that somebody from S-UK has just come back from japan without a fix. But they would like to drive my car as a test (as I am local to West Bromwich).
Interesting to note that the dealer also has a WRX (brand new) that has the same problem.

Copy of post in STi UK Shocks thread, 'cos I want to up the pressure on S-UK....
"Position remains (formally) as posted - S-UK currently don't have a cure. I've offered them my car to take to pieces, but they haven't taken me up.
really appreciate it if you and others would raise the heat on S-UK

Prodrive STi UK Supplied March 2002. Near side rear: shock absorber replaced, only 75% cured 'Tis I who started the other threads here and in 'General'. Possible solution mooted above and in "STi Shocks - New Thread" by "MTR".
I'm going to try the 'parcel shelf fix' tomorrow: and I'm booked in for topmount/struts on Thursday the parts having arrived from Japan Notwithstanding the "one per person" restriction, I'll risk your wrath by posting the outcome

Edited to get "MTR" in the right order!!
