I have worked in some very high end customer service environments that have won many awards for their service levels in a very competitive sector.I guarantee they were a lot busier & more important than a mapper.

Keeping the customer up to date on your whereabouts,timeline & availability or any variation of the above was such a basic function that it amazes me that people think this is some kind of special service.
