However if its just to get you by until you map (this should be sooner rather then later) you need to drive your car like miss daisy. I.e. slowly accelerating using a small amount of throttle not going above 3000rpm. You are then keeping your car from boosting and hopefully won't ruin it. You can however for example have a load of boost at 2500rpm if you are in a high gear and load is great ie trying to accelerate up hill in fifth at say 40mph. Not something you should do anyway but just an example of how you can end up with potentially damaging boost even driving carefully.

You can just plum turbo nipple straight to wastegate actuator. Then you will have about .5bar boost limited by the spring pressure. That is another half measure of safety but you really need a map...
Good safe advice.
Thanks mate

plus judging by your comment you didnt read my post completely and missed the part about having a piggy back set up with mapping to compensate
Lmfao, you pay someone to walk and clean up behind you with all that **** you keep talking?

I love how these banger buyers these days are either sponsored or have modded drag strip cars with there bare hands hahahaha

And then he comes on here talking about a manual boost controller lmfao

Well I've bought a Dawes type one but I'm still not sure about it. I've got all my vac lines off right now just checking my restrictor pill is in right. Does it have to face a certain way in the vac line?

There is a few different types of manual boost controlers the best ones are the gated system where by you can lock the valve off so you don't get boost creep.I still wouldn't touch it on a Subaru though. If I did I would at least get a electronic boost controller from some one like HKS or Greaddy

Had a Dawes Device on a my00 uk turbo years ago before the likes of ecutek were on the go.
Its was two screws in vac lines. Dawes device controlled the boost .Its was running just below fuel cut 1.2bar .You would need fueling checked ie afr meter and check for det with det can's
http://www.3barracing.com/product_7.htm .
Best save up for different ecu or esl daughter board
