Best advice is just keep saving. You'd be far better off buying a slightly dearer one that is in good overall condition, and then put your own stamp on it.
Cheap ones are usually abused and tired out which results in big bills. And trust me, these old things can very quickly turn into money pits.

Well looks like we taking her on. Lucky we got a mate who welds and I can get an engine for 250 ,and windows and caliper for 40. So all good. We lucky to have mates to help get this girl back. We're gonna get cam belt and check obvious problems for her not running ie fuel pump , plugs, pipes blocked etc . And go from their really. Will let u know how get on. . I know am taking in a lot but ill feel good that I've built her back up. It's been a dream getting a run down car back to normal so will be a challenge .

Firstly, check the oil and coolant level (maybe even change the oil?) then I'd try to turn the engine over by hand using a socket wrench at the crank pulley. Take the spark plugs out first. If that goes ok, plugs back in, then disconnect the crank sensor (to stop it from actually starting), crank the engine for a few seconds with the starter to prime the engine and turbo with oil. Then you might look at actually starting it.

There'll be all sorts of rubber hoses needing checked/changed not to mention corrosion on brake lines, calipers being seized, discs and pads are probably ruined and so on. Could turn out to be a bit of a mission!
Good info^ what about the old fuel?

Am after some advice on a scooby that's been sadly stud for 7 years. From what seen so far she needs 2 passenger side windows, discs and pads, bonnet slight dent and couple bumpers and a right good valet. We're going again tomorrow to see if we can get charge in battery to start her. If she don't what's worse that can be wrong engine wise. I really want to take her to give her a new lease of life and have the honour of driving her and making her mine. Thanks.
I had one sit for a year and when I drove it again the exhaust blew all the way along with lots of little holes, the radiator needed replacing, think it corroded and leaked and the turbo died all within a matter of weeks of each other. And then about a year later the automatic gearbox broke, yes automatic lol. That was probably down to poor maintenance on my behalf, not having gearbox service, especially after it sitting for a year.

I mapped my car to the super from a local station to me. I only ever fill from there now. As a bonus though I can change my map any time.

Don't be silly lol, I mean I've adjusted the settings in the cars brain to suit the fuel I use. These cars are very sensitive to fuel and really need to be run on the best you can find.
