What are you talking about? How has a spanner size got anything to do with a captive nut which is inside the rear of the cam belt cover that you cannot access? The outer cover has bolts going through to the captive nuts inside the rear of the cover. I have had it where the bolts turn the captive nuts in the rear covers. Was just making the point that your "hour to do a camb belt" would be lovely in an ideal world.

I saved a tenner on my rcm induction kit ordering it from advanced automotive although it appears to have been sent direct from rcm. After just looking on the rcm site i notice they have now lowered the price in line with what i paid from advanced automotive

What RCM don't say is that some very early V3 cars still used the tube design tensioner.
Early tensioner

The RCM supporters seem to buy regardless, the rest of us know to shop around. They do seem very expensive. Labour could be justified by a superlative service, but charging so much for parts isn't really cricket.

For the record, RCM's labour charge is actually reasonably 'competitive' at £55 + VAT per man hour.
But, for sure, you do seem to pay well over the odds for many of their parts (when compared to 'the like-for-like market average').

Also, at the bottom of Brindley Road, just before it goes 90-deg left and onto RCM's joint, is a great burger van... You know it makes sense.

It's often (always?) 'manned' by a middle aged bird, for sure.
Great baps.
Yeah, the bacon bap is indeed mighty fine - Olly got me one once.
I tend to opt for cheeseburger or hotdog... With onions and tommyarta sauce, obviously.

Ha. I knew you'd respond with that.
Most people think I'm wired wrong to want pineapple on my burger (and pizza).
But I bet you like pineapple on a gammon stake, right?
