Cambelt and lightweight crank pulley.

Had a remap there a few weeks back.

That's it now for me and modding, hopefully just oil changes and low key maintenance from now on!

Chris,

Did you see a blue hatch with gold wheels there when you went down. Its been there since Feb. I would never go back to RCM after what they have done and doing to me now. Ill be lucky to even get the car back at this rate. But im glad you got a good service.

For the guy who said the post i put up about them was a load of crap. Its funny how it got shut down as soon as people started realizing what was going on.

You pay what you get for.......Roger Clarke haven't built a reputation by taking the **** out of customers. And as with every business theres bound to be a few customers who are not going to be happy. I think these sort of things are better of being dealt with in person!

Having dealt with RC in the past I would definitely use them in the future to.

ps If i were them I would of asked for the thread to be closed to as surely they don't have time to waste debating on open forums for everyone to throw their 2 pence in.

I didn't put it on hear for them to reply and have a debate. I put it so every body can see what they did.

The fact that they are so good but didn't know to change the big end when the head gasket went and fitting new pistons makes me suspicious as it is.

I'm sure they will ask for it to be taken of as they don't want there perfect reputation to be tarnished but people need to know what they did.

It's a grey area that one, my mate had the gearbox replaced on his S320 CDI and when the mechanics took it for a test run the turbo failed. My mate had to pay for it himself. Just one of those things I guess.

However, after reading the original thread I don't understand why they didn't suggest at the very least inspecting the big ends. Especially for the rather large prices they've charged!

Are those kinds of prices normal?

One thing for sure, I won't be going anywhere near them, I thought everyman and his dog knows that when you get HG failure on a Subaru engine you NEED to change the big end bearings, I actually find it hard to believe they would split the block, do all the work you listed and then put back the old bearings, on top of that give you a £16k bill.

If it's all as described that's just taking the p1ss and then some, could of had 4 engines rebuilt for £16k and some change.
