Are you selling it just because of the rear knock? Sounds a bit extreme.
Scoobies cost quite a bit more to run that your average Ford Focus.
To be honest, I'd be amazed if your warranty covered shock absorbers anyway. They are a wear and tear item anyway. Try spraying the shaft which grease as already suggested. Did mine 6 months ago and the knock still hasn't come back yet.
