I was gutted when I heard about this earlier today. Just such a nice genuine bloke. Proud to have known him as one of my clients, my mapper but most importantly one of my friends. RIP mate enjoy it up there with Mr Mcrae and Mr Burns.

Only just heard this and I'm gutted, he was a true gentleman and the only guy I trusted with my car , he has mapped for me many times and even been in my garage helping me sort my car when I was building it
My Heart goes out to his family and I'm sure he will not be forgotten in the Subaru world
RIP my friend

I knew it was probably coming.
He helped me over the years greatly.
I have a fond memory of us round his house very late at night and mapping a car down the M20 in the dead of night
We had a brief miss-understanding falling out recently, I guess we knew each other well enough to. I am glad we soon made our peace and he talked to me about his cancer.
He leaves three young children behind
RIP Simon.
Thank you for your help over the years.

Was very surprised when I heard this earlier, never met him or my choice mapper but never the less he was a part of this community and it's such sad news at a man of his age and so soon after his earlier announcement. Bless his soul.
My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends at this sad time.

This is awful news, so sad for his family and all of us who knew him and greatly valued his abilities. He mapped my car many times over the years as I added various bits and pieces. He brought it from not much to well over 400bhp, answering my daft questions with good humour and freely handing out vital information. RIP Simon, you will be truly missed.

Such a shame.
Spoke with Simon around 5 days ago. Told me that his condition "accelerated", so i said "look Simon i would like to come and see you just to say hello" and he said "Max i'll contact you when i could do more than grown" and i just thought ok i don't want to be pushy. He really was a nice guy. Very sad day.

Shocked is the only word I can think of at the moment. The words of the community echo how I feel, such a lovely bloke. He was patient whilst I messed him about getting mine ready for him to map it and even after would send a few helpful messages when I had issues.
RIP, wish I was fortunate enough to have known him better. My heart goes out to his family.
