Testing the water v6 type r
#47
Hardly slagging him off to have his pants down.
And to be honest, the guy is off his rocker.
Wanting 5750 for a non motd rusty type r... For sell or swaps...
I offer 4.5k cash collection very next day as with no mot, rust, needing a new clutch, power steering leaking, dented body parts (bonnet etc) etcetcetc it is no more than a rolling shell spares or repair.
He says no (his perogative, doesn't bother me)
Then it comes back up for sale (yet is refusing all swaps even though it clearly states he wants swap offers) for 3k... I offer 3k cash in hand yet he won't sell for 3k, now if no one bid on ebay and someone won it for 3k he would have to sell it for 3k.
You can get a good working type r for 5-6k, 7-8k for a mint one. You are going to have to sink 3-5k into this to make it worth while.... Puts the total value at the upper end of the scale due to milage of about 3.5-4k...
If an mot was put on it and some tax etc then you would get more for it. And IMO any car that is sold without mot etc is done so because it wouldn't pass an mot and is too expensive to fix... Because who wouldn't put a £35 mot on a car to increase its value from 3-4k to 5k....
I actually want something like this so was happy to offer over the odds for it as it would have saved me money overall. But that is for a whole restoration and track project. Although after considering the above points, I don't think I do want it, thanks for saving me an expensive mistake!

I was actually interested in buying the car, but have decided not to on the back on comments made here.

It looks like a nice car with potential. If I was you I would keep it and do the work on it until mint and sell for top dollar or just keep it as they are going up in price and would be worth holding on to!

Has the clutch been changed yet? Of not how bad is it slipping (most of the time or just on boost?) and if it hasn't been changed yet does it come with the exedy clutch as stated?
Still no mot?
What exactly needs doing to it?
Any running issues or electrical issues as I know you had some with instrument cluster.
Where abouts are you?
