Well of course banks are there to make money, that is not in contention here. I'm merely saying that the PR business is no different to that of the finance industry in which Matteeboy says they don't "make/create" anything.

Surely not?

The fundamental principles of banking are honorable and essential; sadly it went horribly pear shaped when many bankers started putting their own gains ahead of anything else. I still can't believe they got away with it and got bailed out.

Why? How long does it take to say 'turn it off, turn it back on again'?

I'd like to think I'm at least decent if not clever.

3rd line IT, wow, I didn't think I was held in that high regard, 3rd line, phew! And don't work for RBS either, I don't work in the public sector.

Clearly you're avoiding the point I'm making, presumably you because you're unable to counter it.

Of course it makes sense Ding. Can we not deem something a problem without offering a solution at the same time?

Matt tells stories to convince people of certain 'truths'. Financial institutions (are supposed) help allocate resources in the economy 'correctly'.

Both are certainly services.

I dismissed your point because its too stupid to even consider.

It's only stupid because because of what you said in post #139, and since you neither make nor create "stuff", then you are part of the problem you highlighted in your own post. You haven't articulated anything to convince us that your business is any different to that of finance industry in that regard.

Matt does promote one's self more that most, I guess it part of PR and it comes naturally to him.

The correct grammar is "promote himself" Hope that helps Mr. 3rd line IT support man

I hope your job does not involve writing in any way!

A grammar pedant too (though not a very good one), another string to add to your bow. Perhaps you should punctuate your sentences correctly too while your at it. See, anything is possible.

You could learn the difference between "your" and "you're?"

I could but I don't tend to jump on people's spelling or grammer, and besides it gives others the opportunity to feel superior.

Woah there, don't get ahead of yourself (or should that be ones self (sic)). You criticising my grammar is rather like a fat couch potato shouting at Messi

P.S. I do feel superior... probably because I am

I know of someone English who wrote 'grammar' word as 'grandma' all the time. He argued in favour of phonetics defiantly, and followed the word sounds as his compulsive guardian Angel; while putting those words on a paper.

Then I can only guess that it must really grate you that even someone like me can pull you up on your lack of punctuation.

I don't doubt that, no one can deny you have an over inflated sense of self worth.
