I think such tough choices will have to be decided by the patient before not too long in the form of more taxation and or insurance

Including higher taxation for those putting themselves at higher risk

Well, obviously. Anorexics would have hardly any meat on their body to produce any juice, if you squeeze them.

Yes and that was to demonstrate how little importance should be placed on diet when keeping fit; which I clearly stated.

But some of the stuff you've mentioned is from years back; which reveals an awful lot about yourself.

Get over myself? You're the one jumping all over my posts, trying to score points.
Sadly you keep missing the target by miles. Do keep on trying if it makes you feel better though; you clearly need a lot of self congratulation to boost your fragile ego.

As I understand it smoking is harder to quit than heroin.

People conquer far worse than a simple "addiction" to ****.
Just stop; grin and bear it. Die when you were supposed to, not before.

You could have just simply said exercise was important and left it at that, but no, you couldn't help yourself to use it as another opportunity of how great you think you are, just after F1_Fan's post stating he'd lost 25kgs by changing his diet.

It's called having a memory, and was especially memorable due to the ridicule you got back then for bragging about yourself again.

Do you remember you picking me up on my grammer and spelling? No? Glass houses and stones....

I'm not the one bragging how great I am so no ego for me to massage.

But back on topic, there is something fundamentally wrong in wishing people should simply die, especially as they don't strive to have the body image as you.

Do you reject the notion that addiction can be genetic, Matt?

Matt is not addicted to smoking and over-eating sort of things, but he does start to twitch if he doesn't get to exercise.

He said that on your p1$$edness thread:

https://www.scoobynet.com/1015989-drunkenness-3.html

Not a bad addiction, that.

Genetic makeup can have an influence on vulnerability to addiction but I believe that the main factors are environmental.

Yeah, that went through my mind. It's still chemical. So, do you agree with Matt's assertion that people with a different type of addiction should be left to die?

What if one was subject to abuse as a child or had mental health problems? Would they then be candidates for neglect by society or would they be worthy of help and support and treatment? If one's parents were alcoholics and smokers and gamblers or drug addicts should they be left to self-destruct owing to their 'personality flaw'? What about babies that are born addicted to heroin because their mothers were jacking-up during pregnancy? Flawed, are they?

We are talking about obesity and smoking.

I don't have all (if any) of the answers but if any person creates a persistent drain on resources through either issue, I think help should be stopped.

Kids born addicted, kids brought up in severely negative environments are a different matter.

Everyone should be given a chance but persist in blowing that chance and you should be shown the "support" door.

Then I'm guessing you don't have any fat and/or smoking friends in you idyllic life then.
