Faster than the STI you say. I'm yet to see a focus rs that can keep up with my Blobeye STI be it on track or private road but I do like the look of them and as mentioned the RS badge instantly gets respect even before you see the new model just out of sheer past/present reputations.

The issue with any ford sporty model is you need to explain to any car person that's it's not just another focus!

And the image chav ( rethinking that statement as Subaru doesn't really say upstanding business man)

I've had 2x mk1 focus rs's and 1 x mk2 focus rs. Of course nothing near standard

If it's as good as the mk2 focus and as easily tunable it'll be one awesome car once played with it. The mk2 focus only really come alive when power was around 400. Some suspension upgrades and set of 6 pots and had one fantastic car. Handled really well and very quick. Not much use keep up round tracks with it. For people who say can't handle the power and can't cope with handling due to been FwD are deluded and should actually go drive one before forming any opinion .

It'll sell they always do and no doubt they'll hold there value too. Just make older one more special due to 5 pot noise!

Non will be as special as 1st FRS, that was a cracking car and still lot better than most new hot hatches today.

My opinion is ford should have done a fiesta RS this time around. The wrc car is now the fiesta and the rs badge should follow suit to the fez

You never see any normal RS's on the track at Rally Day or PCAD. Why's that then?

I,ve had 2 focus ST,s a five pot which has a brilliant car awesome noise and a new 2012 ST estate with the supposed ecoboost engine which did neither boost nor be eco and the engine noise piped into the cab was quite frankly pants.
If they use the same engine for the RS god help them.

Owned a modified mk1 Focus RS and defo one of the best cars ive owned, but as already mentioned a waste of time in the wet, as for the Mk2 Focus RS, i have a friend with one, and it is easy one of the best cars ive been in, sounds awesome even when pottering about(exhaust and induction), pulls very strong through the gears, and looks good with the big arches and massive 19" wheels.

Blimey, an RS owner that admits they're ****e in the wet! I've experienced them first hand in the wet and have to agree.

Main problem is how much it bloody fans in this country, last couple of years have been shocking (and working outside, unfortunately I know all about it)

4wd it Ford please! I'd like a bit more choic in a few years.

How many box standard wrx's do you see on track?
I'll freely admit they are a crap car in the wet, sold mine for 18500 and to get the same car again I'm looking at 21+......that's the only reason I havnt bought another.

Have you owned a mk2 version trooper? , complete different drive to a mk1.

Are we talking about a all round great family car (the focus) that's got a bit of go for dad or a track focused racing thoroughbred?

You are fighting a losing battle , there is probably a handful of people on here that have owned the mk2......I'll still admit it was one of the best looking cars I've owned. And I've owned some trick stuff.

You have owned the wrong Scooby then fella. Although I like the RS there is no way that it's better than a Scooby also they are 2 totally different cars. Ones a 4wd turbo rally car built for the road and once tuned becomes a different animal again the other is a fwd focus with a turbo built on the RS badge reputation and as I mentioned in yet to find one that could keep with either my classic or my current car a Blobeye sti on the straight or in the twisties and there are quicker Scooby's out there than mine.

I owned a 2003 WRX with PPP and although I loved it, it was only good for one thing putting your foot down in the twistys. Everything else was cheap & nasty.

Scooby=shotgun Focus RS=rifle.

I love subaru's to bits but there a blunt tool for ham-fisted drivers. (which is not meant as a insults but why i like them)
A hot hatch commands a driver to work for what he gets, a donkey can get a Subaru from a-b fast.

Still wonder why people use Subaru's as track cars there just about the most dull performance car for track use. (Unless you modd it so it's no longer like a subaru)

Why is it beyond belief? I was just stating a fact, you said the RS was the better car and that's your opinion and I disagree. I like my cars quick in a straight line and quick in the bends and was just stating that however much you love the new Ford Focus it's not a patch on my current car or my classic for overall performance but that's just my opinion, and you can't compare a WRX PPP to a modded classic or a modded Newage STI and I don't mean one with PPP with all due respect.

If speed is all you like then fair enough but I don't see how comparing old & cheap Scoobys agaisnt a RS is a comparison. Like you said each to their own but in my eyes one is still a 20k motor that does everything I need, the blob eye was nice but it's old and the classic. Well I won't go into that

That's fair enough but my old and cheap Scooby is twice the car your ford will ever be, looks, speed, cornering and anything else you want to add. But as stated it's my opinion right or wrong and if we all had the same opinions we would all be driving around in a ford, Subaru or any other car we can think off.

This is the exact reason why i posted, different people have different opinions and thats what i like about these forums. Friendly banter can be had and its usually light hearted. Think we should agree to disagree

P.S your wrong about the Classic

Scrap the focus and make a 4wd v6 turbocharged mondeo RS too compete with vauxhall insignia VXR,
