Again its down to the fact you are buying second hand. USED GOODS! one persons mint is another persons ok, if you want to get MINT new products with Harrods level of service like most on here then **** off and buy new from Harrods simple as. stop trying to buy cheap.
Most Traders in used subaru bits do it as a hobby or second job, they don't sit by there computers 24/7 like some on here.
A bit of common sense yeah. if you want to buy used then you should expect used condition....... unless you have specifically asked for loads of pics before hand, if you want top service great products from a used parts supplier you need to pay a premium or buy new.
Simple as... Peoples expectations of used parts conditions are far too high!!
Ok let the keyboard warriors loose in 3.2.1 go!!

Too may people want top quality service and goods for cheap money.
If you're buying 'used parts', the clue is in the name. If you're going to be picky about the condition of used parts then it's up to you to get as much information as you can about the condition of said parts.
Far too often people get on here and start flaming traders for not holding up their end of the deal and then all the keyboard warriors jump on the wagon and before you know it the trader says enough and disappears, leaving the SNET community with one less facility to draw on to support their hobby. For example how many top notch mappers make technical comment on here regularly now? Take the two recent threads that concern ASB sales. Do the OPs in each case really think they have benefitted at all by the withdrawal of ASB from SNET? That may well not have been their intention, but it has been the result of the slanging match that these threads always deteriorate into.
I'm not defending truly shoddy service, but the deal is between buyer and seller. If it goes wrong sort it out between you, not get a 'gang' of SNET bully boys to trash the trader's name because they have nothing better to do.

ZXTT who said anything about being mint,i made a decision to buy the seats when ASB stated further down the thread saying the seats had no marks on the backs. So just because they are used does that makes it ok to lie about the condition of them
#68
the seller should list all and any defects clearly and not state it was free from marks when it actually isnt as thats mis-leading
imagine yourself buying a used item from somebody that clearly stated no marks and when it turned up it has a quite a few marks on it........are you saying thats your fault for not asking?
a buyer should only need to ask if nothing is stated about marks being present/not present etc
why would somebody ask if there is any marks on it when the ad says it is free from marks???

The consumer is always the man who gets screwed, therefore forums such as this give a level of help to the common man when being screwed over by companies. We saw it with the turbo the other day, and then that engine that went to Norway or wherever, always seems to be a problem with ASB, and theres been plenty on the facebook forums about them too. Now theres not to say problems dont happen, but these people had no come back from the company UNTIL they exposed the situation.
See how it works?
When listing a part, I always describe the condition - there is no way using the world perfect condition or mint, then try to get out of it saying, 'well its a second hand part' is the right thing to do. the only people who suggest that is fair is the people selling them.
There is a dictionary definition of 'Mint' and one of 'Perfect' and no where does it say 'ok, but not great cause its old and worn' as part of its dialect.
Yes the consumer should ask more questions, more photos, but if the company is trust worthy and honest, they will already be truthful about the state of the product.

The Engine/gearbox issue was nothing to do with ASB. That was AS. I agree with what your saying but I also think sometimes people are too quick to slate a trader without speaking to them first. ASB have a lot of happy customers so I refuse to believe he is a scammer or con man. There are plenty of others out there who are.
I do agree with you though, sometimes people do jump to quickly.
I feel the likes of ebay, paypal and Amazon with their buyer protection and buyer always right systems have created a wealth of consumers intent on the blag. It's become quite a horrific world now, unless you get the item exactly as described down to the last mark measures and photographed , at the right time and signed for , then basically any problem in that process be it the courier or the even the consumer for example scratching the item to get a partial refund, the seller will be at fault and refunded. The seller is ALWAYS wrong in The eyes of ebay . This is transferring over to the real world now because of PayPal.

Agreed, saying theyre scratch free was a mistake, as frankly no 2nd hand part is going to be.
But this should have went to PMs for OP and seller too sort out, not put on the public forum before seller had a chance to reply.

Or just collect in person and pay cash..... I don't mind buying little bits over the net, but a amount like that I'd be driving to collect, if it was a 3 hour drive each way id do it if I wanted them that much, but Yea the ad did say better condition than the pic matey has posted up,and at that price I'd be pissed if I was in the buyers position,
