I've driven a mk2 FRS a few times, was quite impressed with the performance when rolling and it sounded nice.

Setting aside cost totally, I'd still rather have my Sti V6. One journey in the wet was enough to make me realise that!

There's plenty of other things I i don't like about the RS either, the whole feel is of cost saving mass production to me. No nice touches to it, head light vent things are fake, really naff fake Cabon trim, horrible looking sliding brake callipers that looked rusted out at a year old etc

No doubting AP's quality though.
I bought a set of AP 6 pot 7040 calipers for my hawk STi from a guy that was selling them off his TVR/Morgan or something along those lines, anyway paid £300 for the calipers(they did come with pads too), and was going to make a set up myself using new pads/discs/lines and was going to get a mate to custom make some brackets up etc as it would work out a lot cheaper then buying new and a lot better then buying second hand brakes with used discs and pads!!!

Agree, I was very impressed with the Mk2 FRS, went in a mates that was running 425bhp and it made all the right noises, it felt quick enough in a straight line, and got plenty of looks with people pointing and taking photos(bright green & loud)

But as I said early on, I loved my Mk1 FRS, but when I look back the reason why I sold it was because even though it was quick as fu6k, anything other then a dry road, the car was just undriveable in the wet, it would spin up the wheels in 4th gear, but in the dry is was such a good car, trouble is in the UK we get more wet days then dry days!!

This is why i love these forums and keep saying so, these car comparison threads quickly turn into a w*lly waving contest where pub bores search for technical data to prove their point. Lets be honest in the real worls these are of no revelevance, everyone has their own idea of a good car. I loved my Scooby but in my opinion it was no where near the car my RS is. Yes the RS is expensive but in the 2 years ive had it, its probably worth a very similar amount, i bought my Scooby 12 months old and its value plummeted over the 2 years i kept it.

Your on a Scooby forum your bound to get that, i liked them when they were new cars but nowadays most are just cheap runabouts. People spending more money a year on petrol than the "Classic" is worth

What defines a car as being out of date Fatty?

What comparisons do you make to justify the RS is a better car?

As I said, I only need forward, reverse, air con and an MP3 player! Why would I pay 20k(ish) more for a car that you can guarantee rusts after 5 years and develops unfixable oil leaks?

I have spent 'nearly' 20k on a car that is far more of a car than the Focus Rs will ever be. The Scooby for me is a run around and does exactly what I want of it. Its a quick daily driver!

So again, what comparisons justifies the RS as a better car? - Tell me and we can do a side by side comparison

the impreza is an old out of date car in both technology and build quality.
i dont need to define why i think the rs is better as its just my opinion.
i like it, i wouldnt buy one either but thats got nothing to do with it.

post some pics up of your evo as most would love to see such a high spec car, i love mitsubishis too having owned a couple.

its not all about road racing though is it, ive no doubt old imprezas are faster than a majority of cars on the road but that doesnt make them good cars.

coronation street sums up what people perceive the average impreza owner to be...

modern cars are heavy and slow.too many "safety" gadgets on them and they are restricted to 155 mph.so i don't care what rs, si, gti whatever i come across as most stand very little chance against my old scooby
Any modern motor i get to drive just does not compare.Bing Bong ya fuel is low Bing Bong you have no seat belt on bing bong too fast ..lights to tell you when to change gear...maaann where is the modern car headed??and more to the point how much more crap is the "EU" going to insist we let insurers and manufactures pin to our cars..its not going to be long untill you get shut down by a computer for too many g through a corner or start charging you extra money for "quick" driving or somthing.....gggggrrrrrrrrrrr
rant over.

Now thats exactly a posh chavs attitude, well done.
Dont you mean, you dont want to race because, youll get murked, youll get stone chips on your expensive motor or did you buy it just to show how well mummy and daddy brought you up?

Daddy left when I was 2
Mummy had nothing , so now I can afford toys I have them....but I'm always still at the bottom of the pecking list in my house , my choice though
I bought the rs as I wanted one after seeing one , I also had a mallard green escort monte due to been told I could never afford one....the comment ate into me off a former boss.
Chav I'm not , I turned 40 last year ..... Petrol head yes , chav no.
I dont sit on here bleating how good my cars are compared to other marques
I see a lot of people on here slating cars they havnt even owned....I make a comment on the cars I have owned.
Was the rs any good.........yep , really nice car to drive , got loads of attention (only 2 in Doncaster) was it the best car I've owned....errr NOPE.
The best I've had was the m3csl .....and to be honest I had to buy a cat d one as I didn't have 25k in the bank and I've never had finance on a car as I can't keep them long enough.

So that should be the spoilt mummy/daddy bit be out of the way

A chavs attitude is buying a 1500 quid shed and attempting to race proper cars on public roads then posting about it on forums asking other chavs to tell of their expensive car slaying experiences.

For all the slating you get on here fella I don't know why you bother
I'm sure it was you I was sat aside after leaving the show at lightwater valley , I don't think either of us went over 80 until I missed the a1 turning and had to make a bit of time up

I've seen one tidy classic in Doncaster and that was 'dazdavies'.....I did try to have a play with him but couldn't get by him , he had a modded classic and the rs was standard.....he was impressed (I was sh1tting bricks thinking I was going to die)
