As a day to day car its horses for courses but as a drivers car its a different ball game IMO...spec-c ftw
I'm a driver and I went for the V3 Type R as my toy / track car, tried living with it as a daily and it was a bit much tbh, I could have also bought a newage STI then too but wanted a proper weapon.
If the suspension and gear ratios were better in the STI I probably would have bought one back in 04 as they were the biggest nails in the coffin for me, I could have removed the spoiler and covered the passenger seat so I wouldn't have to look at the blue or maybe I'd have gotten used to them.
I'd never driven either prior to that and didn't know a great deal about them either so my decision was totally un-biased.

So you prefer the sti as a drivers car then albeit in classic form, Glad we`ve cleared that up
Since Matt had his **** handed to him by Mr Finch he's gone a little sheepish.
I have my doubts it will have made any tangible difference to our resident **** though. He'll be back before long to wow us all with more tales of his technological prowess.
JDM STI I get due to the twin scroll extra creature comforts, better gear ratio's and better spec engine, but the UK STI in particular pre 2005 is a bag of **** and I wouldn't waste my money on one, it will be better spent upgrading a WRX, unless you care about badges and ironing boards.
I currently have a blob sti and a blob wrx, I've drove them both and worked on them both so have very good experience of both cars, there is no way i would I pick the wrx over the sti, the wrx is a nice refined chilled out car and a nice drive but the sti is a completely different beast, its a much more raw drive and a much better car all round, admittedly the 6 speed gear ratios are a pita to start with in comparison to the 5 speed but once you know how to use them they're fine, at least I haven't got to worry about blowing the 6 speed up, a trade off I'd rather have tbh, swapping boxes every month don't interest me.
