Yes I RTM'd Maguire's post yet he still remains as a fully fledged poster on SN despite posting homophobic, racist and misogynist terms in various different threads. Must be all banter I guess

sure, I understand

but personally I would much rather these sorts of posts stand, for all sorts of reasons

not least so people can see what views others hold

obviously I was not personally offended, because I am not a "spade" or a woman - but I can imagine others would be

I believe in openness and hence people should be allowed to post this nonsense - but they should be held up to be ridiculed - by removing it, imo they have gained a little victory

just my thoughts on it

To be honest hodgy I am fed up arguing about it, I posted in policy about terms like this and got told it was fine as it was mostly banter and then got ridiculed by Maguire and Co. of course - only on SN could you get laughed at for not being racist, homophobic and misogynistic. It's clearly not fine IMO, but if that is the way SN want to operate then I can't change that. With a bit of luck one day the law will!

Whooo hoo! Top gear is finally over! At last, no more of that immature repetitive dribble on TV. If that website is true, then I hope 'full throttle' takes a more serious approach.

Was talking about this with a couple of mates on the weekend. I really don't think Top Gear would work in the same/similar format with a commercial broadcaster.

Yes, why did that happen?? I saw nothing offensively racist, homophobic or misogynist on this thread but there was a post where JC and his co-presenters were mocked for their bodies by someone, but that post (and a few more) seemed to have gone now. I'm just wondering whether JC and Co. RTM-ed, although they don't post in SN. Also, as JC himself is quite loose-tongued, I can't really see him complain tbh. I thought SN was quite liberal about all that, so what happened there?? I don't get it.

JC's 'pikey' insult has been ruled out by the BBC. I'm just thinking whether it may mean that he would be back on the job, as the BBC hasn't lost total sympathy for him?

I don't think he's politics minded, although he has been wished to be a PM by the halfheads of the country in past.

He's not as bad tbh. He's just a bit of a hot-headed idiot who acts on his impulse for a laugh. He's also much more intelligent than a lot of his watchers that idolise him. He makes money from gripping their naïve pulse while they just laugh their head off and sign petitions blindfolded. I bet he laughs at this phenomenon, and makes money and fame out of this publicity as well.

Nope I stopped watching it last year but from what is clearly obvious from various forums including this one, is that it's still the same churned out cr@p. Hopefully it'll now make way for something decent on a Sunday .

It really is dissapointing. Take for example 'The Gadget Show'. Many years ago that used to be a good watch but it started to turn really stupid and they tried to make it "funny". What is these days? Why do channels have to dumb-down programs? My only guess is to make it appeal more to a wider audience... not sure why they dumb things down in order to do this though .

LOL your wife needs to get out a bit more. I see nothing in your posts that mirrors Jeremy Clarkson. I've never seen you calling anyone a pikey because they had a private number plate, or saying that Mitsubishi is way better than Subaru.

You come across nothing like JC in your posts, well, apart from cheering him up as his dedicated follower.

Yes, easy TV is terribly dumb now, in order to cater for the wider audience that is dumb as dumber. Look at the reality shows like 'This is Essex' and 'Come, Dine with Me' and their popularity. What exactly do such shows stimulate, apart from some **** and taste buds, respectively? Really bad. They make Jeremy Kyle and Catfish look educational!

I watch Sir Brian *** sometimes. He's cute. He speaks as if he's smiling , and I like that. He doesn't swear and demeans anyone for a laugh either. I also like Keith Lemon in contrast, but his repetitive sexually explicit references are just so very unnecessary.

I totally agree. I mean, 100%.

Someone has just sent me a screenshot of that post, and I can see that it didn't just contain the comments on the TG presenters' body but also the offensive ridicule for certain sections of the society. That post was quite out of order, actually. It should have been left here, to offer an open opportunity for a public ridicule of that poster here.

Don't be silly, and let bygones be bygones. You two are like bunch of wimmins interested in gossip!

Oh, sh7t! Have I just been misogynistic?

Vape it, vape it!

PS: Don't take above^ in Jonathan Ross's accent, by the way. Or I'll be in deeper trouble than the one whose post got vaped before.

Just noticed that in my post #410 the surname of Dr. Brian *** reads as starred i.e. ***, if you aren't logged in. Same happens with Ed *****' surname here on SN. That's very strange, as neither ***** nor *** are swear words, as we know. If they were, why would they have them as their surnames, eh? I wonder is Sandra Bullock's surname also comes up as all starred for non-logged readers. I shall log off to check that.

Nope! Bullock surname remains readable, but *** and ***** surnames are swear-filtered, and appear as stars (one star each letter) for non-logged readers. Weird.
