Like it or not any successful economy needs a certain amount of people like that. It helps keep the money moving.

I'm far from rich but I pay my way and dislike people who don't. If people with more money than me play by the rules they'll end up paying proportionately more than I do in tax and have significantly more than I do left over. That doesn't bother me.
There is however a politics of envy operating in this country where a large proportion of the public resent anyone else who has more than they do, so those who have a lot more really rock their boat. What they should do is look a bit closer to home, perhaps take some personal responsibility for the position they are in.
Labour are just stoking the fire of resentment. The current tax avoidance is a case in point. I avoid tax, by claiming 'home office' and using my company vehicle privately for example. So what, this is the 'vanilla' avoidance that seems to be the flavour of the day, and everyone able does do it. It isn't illegal, trouble is the legions of people on PAYE don't get it because in the main they are ignorant of the workings of it. They get paid holiday, I don't. It's swings and roundabouts.
Labour are trying to link all the rich (whoever they are) and group them with the likes of Amazon and Google and Vodafone, who we can all agree have played the system by agreeing terms with the Organ Grinder.
Very cynical, and misleading.

I'm quite worried about this actually. I appreciate its social media, but all I seens to see on my feed is about how many disabled, homeless, skint, depressed people are dying, campaigning etc. etc. to get this nasty party out. How austerity is failing, the needy are dying. **** sake all I'm seeing is Guardian links, yeah they may be bullsh1t but people believe it. Now if a lot of these people fall in for Labours cheap offerings of solving the worlds problems, the Conservatives are out. People I'm talking about who aren't your stereotypical benefit scrounging, feckless something-for-nothing's "always voted" Labour voters either. Educated young folk. If millions of these vote for the left, we're fooked! The amount of grief I get as I'm open about being a Conservative voter living in the North is daft, like I'm some kind of antichrist or worse, Britain First advocate!
Another great post, maybe we will be ok.

One tends to lead to the other though and human nature tends to mean the economy tends to be the leading factor. Give people economic security so they don't have to worry about themselves so much, then they may start to look out for others.

- Have an addition
- Dyslexia
- A council house
- Attitude problem to those trying to help me
- Criminal record
- Kids
Their "help" was specifically targeted at those who deserved it the least ;apart obviously from those with learning difficulties - even I'm not that heartless). I can't see how the Conservatives could give me any LESS than Labour, Jeff.

And as I found out neither were Labour because I didn't:

A dose of bad luck so he can experience a life less fortunate for a while! Not every young student is an impressionable d1ckhead, not everyone on benefits is a scrounger and not every well paid executive is paying their fair share of tax.... there's good and bad at all levels!.
What really amuses me is we live through 5 years of Cameron and Co. demonising those on benefits as workshy lazy scum and now we have a couple of weeks where super rich tax dodgers come under scrutiny and people like Maguire get all butt hurt over it. Where's the balance FFS????
As for being self employed no one forces anyone to go self employed so crying about non-paid holiday is pathetic. My heart pumps p1ss for the poor love!
Yes Miliband is being a ****, but what do you expect, he's a modern politician?
He's no better or worse than Cameron or any of the rest of them, just some people's prejudices stop them seeing them for what they are. Take a step back and you'll realise nearly all of them are kidding nearly all of us along!
As an example of that you tell me what sort of society we have where over 1400 children most of whom were wards of the state can get sexually assaulted in Rotherham with a blind eye deliberately turned by just about anyone who could put a stop to it and then not one single person so much as loses their job over it?
The country is a f**king embarrassment as are its politicians! It's an utter shambles from a society perspective! Very sad!

But for the vast majority of people on benefits their weekly payments have not been cut in any way.In fact most benefits have risen faster than salaries with the middle class being hit harder than others. I'm lucky enough not to have to claim any benefits (even though I could claim for a disability resulting from an accident) but I think whoever is in power after May will have to make really hard decisions on what to cut, and cut they will, big time, or raise taxes. I agree with targeting those at the top who get away with not paying taxes as well, it stinks.
HMRC needs a bloody good sorting out as well. The tossers are taking me to court saying I owe them thousands in unpaid tax whereas in reality they owe me just under £800. How much time and money will that cost just because two departments in HMRC will not talk to each other. Makes me mad.

Forget about the money as we all know the party that was going to cut welfare as actually spent more on it, I am talking about their general rhetoric and that of the press. Just look at the number of shoddy sensationalist TV programmes made about 'scumbag' and 'workshy' benefit claimants in the last 5 years.... it's disgusting how they are being portrayed. Yet as soon as some super rich millionaire comes under the spotlight for tax reasons the likes of Maguire start whining about how unfair it is.
