As before it's almost 100% percent a ill fitted windscreen. Either the windscreen has "dropped" when fitted or the wrong bond line. Make sure you get them to sort it as your covered by a life time warranty

*dont work for Autoglass any more*

Well the AA Autowindshields guy has just been out to see my car and agreed 100% that the horrific wind noise from 50mph upwards is due to the ridiculous window rubber they have fitted.

They have ordered a OEM Subaru one and will fit a brand new windscreen again when it arrives.

He had a big smile on his face when we got back from the little drive!

Update:

Got the OEM seal fitted yesterday via National Windscreens (NW) and all is now good - the intrusive wind noise from 50mph has now gone and it's virtually silent until 70mph+ where after that it's no more or less noisy than any other car. :-) Finally it's sorted!!!!

The guys at the NW branch were really good and helpful - unfortunately their hands were a little tied by their company's policies and initially they weren't allowed to order in the OEM seal. In the end I had to go through their complaints department to get it sorted, but we got their in the end - thank you all to you input on this thread - I think that it added quite a bit of weight to my argument.

Hope that you guys all get the same great result!

I'll put a general warning thread on the site so that it's a bit more obvious to other owners about this issue.

Funnily enough, my new OEM Subaru wndow rubber and new screen are being fitted right now as I type this! Looks much better than the aftermarket one fitted by the company before.

Hopefully by lunch I'll be able to tell if it has sorted the problem on mine too!

Totally agree - it sits in the window opening alot better - much less protrusion at the corners and it seems to be made of much stiffer rubber.

Glad everyone is getting this issue sorted, mine has just been done this week and is so much better after the genuine seal.
In all fairness to autoglass the technician gave me his personal phone number and asked me to ring him if it sorted the problem so they can stop it from happening again.
The seal does seem to sit a lot better too, just hope they learned that trying to cut costs doesn't pay. Wouldn't like to think the amount of labour alone this has cost them.

Well I'm delighted to report my car is now perfect once again! The Subaru window rubber has solved all the issues. It's a delight to drive again.

Thank god!!!!!
