Whats your Top Speed achieved in your scooby?
#32
Had about 145 mph three up, in my then Sti VI type R on the way to the Ring, was then left in the wake of an E class AMG Estate as it flew by, making me look like I was in reverse!
I dont think any of the Germans where doing less than 120mph on that strecth of road.
Had an indicated 175mph in my previous 4 door STI IV which taking into account the speedo being out 10% would make it 157.5 mph.

Managed an indicated 148mph in MY97 uk turbo whilst having a little drive with a cavalier turbo, his speedo indicated just under 160mph! My scooby is standard apart from full scorpion exhaust.

I 'wasnt' on the M45 going up a slight incline when I had to take my foot off the go pedal at an indicated 145MPH. I was running out of road and had to apply the brake very hard as I caught up with a slower car doing 70MPH. I Couldnt overtake him as my m8 on his 9R was coming up faster on the outside of me at about 160MPH . It was hit the newly fitted 4 pots or hit my m8 on his bike, good job the brakes were up to it.
MY98 induction kit and Magnex Back box. No lights or AC but stereo was pumping
Cheers

A rather pathetic 135mph (obviously in Germany), but there was a corner coming really fast. That was in a completely standard UK Turbo at about 5,000 revs with 69,000 miles on the clock. I was looking at the rev counter and then p****d my pants as I saw the corner coming up a LOT closer than the last time I looked. I'd never driven anything more powerful than a 1984 1.6 Escort before that and had had the scoob for only three weeks, so I was pleased...
M.
Yet to take my new one anywhere near that.

140mph on the E3 heading towards venlo from Dusseldorf and still pulling with some spare Revs, when some idiot pulls out ahead (must have been doing the same in KMs) and forces a brake meltdown. In my standard 98 UK turbo at the time with nothing added. It was on a sunday, so i should of expected it

On the way back from Le Mans last year we caned it back along the payez and the cars ran out of puff at the following speeds (ish):
Integra Type-R (owned by ADP) - 140ish
MY2001 WRX (ADP's new motor) - 149
Honda S2000 - 156
TVR Tuscan - 176 (had to brake for a corner)
Crazy fun. Everyone should do it. Four cars all at the tolls at the same time, burn away as the gates lift, right up to V-Max. Bloody marvellous. Plus the Tuscan had an F355, 3 times the price!

My mate didn't do over 190mph (speedo reading) in his new R33 HKS Tuned skyline last week, before he bottled it.
He also didn't keep side by side with a tuned R1 from 40-170mph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im suprised tha some of your guys are saying you`ve 160+ I though all imprezza were short ratiod, amazing 0-60 but run out of puff at about 138 mph? what is the 1000rpm/5th?

Lets,
Most scoobs are fairly short ratio'd (type RA and Type R) but the others will stretch their legs a little more, esp the uk turbos which have longer ratios, if not the longest (along with the P1) and the STi7's (which are limited to 155mph) but taking that into account they will with the right breathing modifications pull very strongly to the redline

And most vauxhalls do tend to have "optimistic speedos" After all, dont Nova Sr's do 140mph??? and SRI cavaliers do near 150mph... Or so their owner seem to believe. I recall a few years ago, 3 friends racing ( not on the motorway of course ) 309 GTI, Hyunai coupe, and cavalier SRI. The peugot and hyundai were very close, indicating about 120mph maybe a little more. Strange how we easily passed the cavalier despite it reading 140mph!!!!!!!!
And as for a 1.6 N/A saxo doing over 130mph.....no comment. Of course, I DO have a mini which will pull close to 140mph. 20mph ( maybe a little less )/1000rpm approx in 4th using 3.1:1 final drive + 13" wheels. It will pull 7500rpm down a slight hill, or easily pull 7000rpm on a flat in 4th. Full trim road car/road tyres has run 14.5 secs @ 102mph at Santapod a few years back. Driven to and from the event all the way from N Ireland. Would do better if I could get grip. Spins the wheels til about 75/80 mph, and crossing the line still in 3rd. Obviously its turbocharged by me
It will also give an sti a very hard time til about 130mph. It just doesnt handle as well . Slow sti's/wrx's etc. get beaten

Indicated 162mph in my P1. Was a little bit left, as it wasn't near the redline, but bottled it cos it was on a 'B' road. Quick enough for me thankyou.

155MPH for 40 mins on the way down to Catalunia Rally with Pete Croney and gang. Ambient temps 4-6^C time 2-4 am.
Passed 2 cars in the 112.7 miles before I ran out of fuel (60L).
Standard ECU Scoobysport down mid and back box (their good products).
Leda C also fitted not sure if that affected the handling as at 155 the 22B was far more stable than the girlfriends micra at 70!
Both my 22b and Pete's car went on to at least another 20K of problem free motoring.
Therefore in cold conditons and high octane fuel i.e. 98Ron + 1 can of Proboost, there is no engine problem.
My engine failed after a Powr Engineering rechip and 600 miles.
Fastest I had out of that was 120MPH.

well mines a errm 163mph in esscy cossie with a GPS sat location jobby that you can buy from decent camping shops that has peak speed recall on it takes 3secs to update so you have to hold it there and 144mph confirmed in same car by her majestys finest police officers on the m1 at 3am
often see 160 on the clock though and thats a fully calibrated speedo as well
