I was not doing an indicated 147 while not chasing a GSXr750 down a 1.5mile private road With a bit more road would probably have gone to 150ish.

Got my 93 WRX up to just under 140mph indicated on the way back from Le Mans last year, but because I was carrying luggage for about 10 ppl, the front started to go light and I bottled.......then my mate passed in his identical (near-empty) WRX showing around 150mph & bouncing off the rev limiter!!

legacies go quickest ;-)

and thats a totally standard GTB estate - the b4 gets to and indicated 170+ alarmingly quickly - without the feeling that the windows are about to implode either (as per impreza old-shape)- I do,however, worry about tyres at that kind of speed - not recommended too often. Looking at the fuel gauge after such a run is usually sobering enough to put you off doing it again :-(

165MPH two up, uphill in my westie, it started to take off at that point so i said that was enough thanks. That felt quite quick being an open top cig packet on wheels It was geared for 175MPH at the time.
132MPH downhill into the foxhole at the ring in my Impreza Sport, that was 5th on the limiter.
Dunno on the STi5 Type RA, i dont intend to find out it's full top speed either as these cars dont like sustained high revs running. No Scoobs like it that much really.

I had 140 MPH as measured on my GPS Blue i (on a private road) MY00 with plenty more to go I would love to have the RB5 WRSport flat out, and may try it when I attend the next ring trip, on the Autobahn

Similar to others - 145mph with a bit more to go but would have missed my junction requiring an extra 30 miles to get home at 3am (obviously, this was when I used to live in Germany )!

166 MPH downhill educating the French not to even bother!
That is what the speedo said on the STi V - maybe they put the MPH speedo face on a bit anti clockwise (which is good news if that TVR educating SPECS thing comes through).
I must grow up, I must grow up... (waddya mean it should have long since happened by now!) Off to tell the 10 yr old next door now - yes it DOES do what it says on the speedo!!!!

I never been that sort of speed in my car, but my Blue i recorded 130 mph and the speedo was within 1 mph. I'm confident the speedo is quite accurate in a Scooby (MY00 at the time)

out of curiosity...why when people quote their top speed do they knock off around 10% ??
book figure for my motor is 144mph, so doesn't it do 144mph then ??
confused. I have had 150 showing on my speedo with 1000rpm left on a straight road (private)
so is it the book figure we deduct 10% from or the speedo figure ? the speedo figure I can understand, but some on here are quoting 134 for a scoob, surely not right
I always thought lotus carltons DID 182mph btw ??
shunty
