This, anyone who tries to tell you the Impreza isn't a chavmobile is either blind or delusional. Enjoy it, stuff a dirty great exhaust on the back and make an absolute racket. Embrace the inner chav, it's much more fun.

If you're looking to impress the ladies, then £10K on some old worn out pork will probably see you not sleeping alone that often. If you spend £10K on an Impreza, you'll be going home with a 4 pack of lager and blue movie.

Quite funny though out here in Croatia everyone knows what a Subaru is even my poverty spec wagon gets attention, mind you it does look nice in black with gold wheels and when I had my Type R out here there'd always be folks pawing it, most had never seen 2 door Classic in blue with the big spoiler out here, people taking photos of it all the time, but they are car mad out here.

Just tell the little ****** at Euro Car Parts that you are obviously considerably richer than him and can afford to pay 10 times what he thinks a car is worth.
£1250? What a *****.

Don't take this the wrong way mestonian,
But I think u have bought the wrong car ( for you ).
The last week or so u have had quite a few threads up , mainly
Relating to the look , it was nice at time of purchase but etc etc
Skirt extensions , lips , wheels etc etc & now your paranoid because some ****** who prob thinks a JDM twin scroll is some sort of Japanese dance music . Offended your justification in said purchase . Think you should go sit yaself back in your 80k BMW .

Let's be honest, the Newage STi's do look a bit chavvy with the awful blue interior, gold wheels and big wing.
Mine's a Spec D, so it has none of the above.
As for cheap, well maybe you can pick up a shed cheaply enough, but once you factor in the running costs, maybe that's why the typical boy racer doesn't tend to keep it very long.

I was told by my daughter that her friends mum said I drove a chaves car, how ironic as she was on benefits with multiple farthered kids lol!
I work in a college all the lads love that an old boy like me has a scoobie, most of them want to own it, drive it or nick it...

Who put 10p in you?
Didn't realise there was a thread limit. Although i'll be sure to ask your permission master before i contemplate posting another one
What's the problem in me going off the skirts? Or changing the wheels? Or changing the exhaust? So MY car looks how I want it? - I would imagine 99% of those on here have done the same. So by wanting to modify my car I must have bought the wrong car? Not really much logic there to be fair.
I really do wish there were clearer rules on this forum regarding what can be posted. So far, we can't post general discussions without being blasted as paranoid, nor can we post threads (sorry, more than 1 thread) relating to changing the look of a car, anything else?
I totally understand why my original post was misconstrued, but it was a simple question, not a "OMG I WANT MY CAR TO LOOK LIKE IT'S WORTH A MILLION QUID" - an as for my other threads regarding changing the look of the car, i really dont see that i have to justify that in any way, shape or form bearing in mind the vast majority of posts across this entire forum relate to similar things.
Wasn't intended like that, more than happy with my purchase. This isn't my first scoob, believe it or not!

I see less and less Classics now, probably because they've rotted away or the chavs have wrecked them.
Probably the most common are 55 or 56 Blobs as they were popular and after that, with the 2.5 Hawks, they just lost their appeal.
Apart from the Bugs which have always been hideous, and any wagons, I think the most important thing is that the car should be in very good condition and look close to standard (i.e. tasteful modifications). Above all other things, the one thing that created the often negative attitude towards the Impreza was undoubtedly the catastrophically tasteless mods so many owners made to them. My favourite has always been the stickers, why would anybody do that? Or the daft splitters, skirts and vents running the stickers a close second.

Most people wouldn't know the difference between a WRX and an STI, let alone the finer differences between UK and JDM cars and all the special editions etc.
Who cares what some bozo at Euro car parts thinks? Sounds to me like a future member of various low brow Facebook groups to me.
All of the Subarus I've owned over the years have attracted comments, both positive and negative. I couldn't give a flying toss what the overwhelming majority of numpties out there think of my cars.

Yes, they do look pretty cheap to be fair. Unfortunately the amount that have been badly modified over the years do nothing to help either. Both with the image and the fact there are a load of crap ones floating about for buttons so even the average "enthusiast" assumes they are all worth the same money.
I also went from an M3 to a blobeye and it seemed to change a lot of peoples perceptions (especially women oddly enough!). That said I don't really care too much as the impreza is a lot more fun when the inner chav comes out to play!

I didn't buy an Impreza to look expensive. I'd have bought a boring poverty spec BMW or Audi if I wanted to try to look more expensive. But hey, even then people would think it's on finance . Motoring is a funny thing. The best thing to do is not care what anyone thinks and if people ask/question you, just smile and nod .
Last year while in a car park, some old man came up to me and couldn't believe I paid less than £4k for my classic, he thought it looked closer to £10k and told me that these cars used to be used in the WRC . 98% of the public don't have a clue and its not even worth trying to explain.

As most have said...it's not worth worrying about...I spent a similar amount on my car and then a similar amount again on modifying it to my liking...does it look like a £20k+ car? - absolutely not and I wouldn't get anywhere close to my money back if I sold it.
People who know there cars, know how much they cost - are they chav?...yes
I don't think you deserve all the negative posts you've got on here though...disappointing for a car enthusiast site.

Big scoop on bonnet.
Gold bling bling wheels.
**** off spoiler on boot.
Loud exhaust.
Make no mistake to your average Joe or Joanne these cars a cheap halfords chav chariots.
I was in Italy with my Type R feeling quite chuffed that all the lads were admiring my car, then my mates girlfriend walked up with her friend (both Italian) took one look at the car and said to me "defichenti"
