That's what I meant, the outer wing. Scary stuff to be cutting away the out panel like that unless you had a new wing ready and knew where to cut. It'd definitely give you a better insight to what's under there and bits that also need cutting and replacing.

£300 per side is way too cheap to cut in a new arch, including painting and a door blend. I would be very weary of a bodyshop only charging £300.

Please please please remember you get what you pay for in the bodywork industry. If you have seen some of their previous work and are happy with it then great you got a bargain, but if not then just be careful or you could quite easily be left with a badly fillers and badly painted new arch panel.

Yep before I understood the Impreza arch rust issues properly I paid a fairly decent body shop (I was previously happy with their work) about £400 to get rid of the rust on the outer arch and blend it in.

Two months later a small bubble appeared. Within a few more months it had bubbled worse then it was to start with. £400 wasted.

Post 3 says all you need to know. Sticking cheap copy arches over a whole heap of problems is a waste of time. Literally papering over the cracks and little else!

I've looked at the blokes Facebook wall but can't see these anywhere, any idea if he's still doing them? I need to replace mine because some crazy jap has flared mine with a blindfold and circus mallet.

He's selling them on eBay now. I've still not decided if I should get them or not. All rust will be cut out so surly these should work for the outer panel at least!
