Did u get to the bottom of this?
I have the same turbo and when on idle it makes a loud noise. Hard to explain but sounds like you can really hear the wheel spinning.

No, apparently it is within build tolerance. To be honest though it has been on the car for a year now and all seems good, minus the noise

My gt30 based turbo sounds exactly the same and has done for around 10k miles, mine also has play, but was told as long as the compressor wheel does not touch the housing then its within spec
