Bollox.

The Labour Party went on record by the words of their leader Ed Miliband, many times, publicly on TV to categorically state they would NOT align themselves with the SNP.

The election can really be summed up like this. The SNP rise punished Labour, The Lib Dems were all but wiped out seats wise and that punished Labour more than the Tories and the honours were more or less even between the Tories and Labour = majority for the Tories and lots of happy Tory voters aka Southerners.

The interesting thing is this leaves NI, Scotland, most of Wales and a lot of northern England not really represented by the UK government.

You need to look to proper nations like France and Australia to see how people power can make things happen.

PS It's you're not your!
Actually the majority of the electorate did do something and went to the ballot box to exercise their right to vote. If you didn't vote, you can't blame the voters if you don't like the outcome. Even the decent and honest folk in Greater Manchester voted Conservatives.

Sorry, but firstly your post makes no sense. Mine was in response to some notion of Mad Max style armageddon (yes I have no real idea what Tidgy is talking about either) which the last time I considered it had nothing to do with voting at the ballot box.

Secondly there was no possible good outcome of this election IMO hence why I chose not to vote, but you knew that as I must have written it at least six times and you have responded to at least half of them. Therefore I can assume that once again you are wanting to reignite our exchanges having claimed that you didn't do that just the other day! You are a whining little hypocrite!

PS you need to edit the jibes in a bit quicker in future! Your original post is as quoted here

F1, you didn't vote that's fine, but don't criticise the electorate for doing so and voting Conservatives.

I'll do what I like thanks! You are a prime example of everything wrong with England! I say England rather than the UK as the Scots have seen sense!

Depends who they find to replace him, they're some pretty big shoes to fill by all accounts.

On the subject of UKIP, where's Warren?

He's probably gone catatonic over the Conservative victory! Hopefully he'll recover in time to remind us to wind our clocks back later in the year.

The Deputy Leader of UKIP Paul Nutall seems the most camera/public speaking savvy of the candidates behind Farage. However there was just something about Farage and how he came across that got him 4 million or thereabouts votes across the UK. I don't think anyone else will manage that again.

I have never really been in favour one way or the other of PR, but this morning I cannot see how anyone can defend a system where a party getting 12% of the vote gets 1 seat and another getting 36% of the vote gets 323!!!!!

Farage has resigned and will decide over the Summer if he stands for the leadership again so he may well come back!

I didn't vote thanks to a massive **** up by our inept local Council.

But the Lib Dem MP has been ousted by a Tory. That may seem bad but the Lib Dem guy was a complete bloody idiot who never addressed local issues so any change is good. And he was fat.

The new guy is an ex postman and appears to be a vaguely normal human being. If they can put the brakes on the out-of-control holiday home building frenzy here, that's all that matters to me. Oh and he isn't fat.
