A lot of Scots are pretty happy with the way its all panned out. As a Country we rejected Labour. As a Country we embraced a party that will represent Scotland better than any other.
Clearly the SNP had a finite number of seats to win. Had scotland wanted a labour Government in Westminster, Scotland would have voted labour. Scotland didn't and that says it all.
Milliband is hiding behind the "Scottish Nationalism defeated Labour in Scotland line". It wasn't Scottish Nationalism that defeated Labour. Labour lost it pretty much by themselves, and they knew it was coming.
Scots are not daft - Scottish Labour really is just a branch office of the larger Labour party.
We were always going to have to put up with a Government in Westmninster we didn't elect. At least now we have elected representatives who are not just someone's bitch.

Don't - we're used to that Chris. Fortunately we have our own Scottish Parliament that deals with the more important day to day stuff like NHS Scotland, Educaton, the law, etc and comprises MSPs more representative of the Scottish vote.

Even before the election ukip have had a huge influence on other parties policies.
It's great to see the liberals wiped out, and ukip will only grow further from here!

Not so in Wales where the Cons had their best results for over 30 years gaining 3 seats whereas labour actually lost a seat, unusual in Wales. Up the valleys though you could stick a red rosette on a sheep and they'd vote for it

Oh I know, but they used the phrase the 'people have spoken' which in fact would change the actual statistics if that was actually true

I voted for our local Tory MP Again. He's always replied to any letters/emails I've sent in and things do get done with his help if you exercise a bit of patience and determination to follow things up. Obviously what happens in Gloucestershire affects me more so than Hull on a day-to-day basis and I'll vote on the basis of what I see happening at a local level rather than what is being peddled throughout the papers. We've had our council tax bills frozen for two or three years now and we haven't suffered too badly with mass-housing developments, although that is inevitably going to change and is a necessary evil that the local Council can't do an awful lot about save for deciding where to actually site it.
We've got a Lib Dem Mayor and, whilst I still think he's way too young to be taken seriously, he is proactive and doesn't appear to garner too much negative press.
Whilst a lot of people might get swayed by the big names on TV, there is way more to politics than that. You only need to plonk yourself in a Parish Council or Town/County Council meeting to see that. The petty bickering happens there too and there are definitely councillors who are there for all the "wrong" reasons, but it is genuinely the only route to go down to get heard properly and make any changes to the area you live in.
My vote may not necessarily benefit people outside of my region and I get that but I'd be voting against myself if I had voted any other way at this moment in time in the place that I live in. That vote is completely open to change should anything arise that changes my view.

Like them or loathe them, but UKIP polled over 4 million votes in the UK.
That's probably twice as many that as voted SNP up here in Scotland to get 56 seats in Westminster.
UKIP will not go away and will do much better in elections where PR is in place.

It's a good point, i'd like to know the total number of votes for SNP that got them all those seats.
