Certainly would look a lot different under PR.

And as someone has mentioned on the page jonc linked, we can't really assess what the result might have been under proportional representation. The way people vote, and the system under which they vote, are not independent from each other. There's a lot of tactical voting under the current system and who's to say many wouldn't vote differently under a proportional system?
Voting to keep someone out is likely to give a very different result to voting to put someone in.

Agreed.

I still reckon it was fiddled and I don't doubt for a second they wouldent have fudged the figures to give the desired result, but never mind we now have quite a few seats in that sh1thole of a building that runs this country..

That's based on the result that 'they' wanted, nothing more.

Yup, 100% agreed! This in/out referendum he promised is the next big one in politics to look forward too, I'm dying to see him try to squirm his way out of this one. Bet he wished he kept his mouth closed on it now lol.

Yep it's one good thing about the result. It will also be very interesting to see how he 'leads a one nation government' (his words) seeing as he has been more or less completely rejected by Scotland

I was actually surprised (very surprised TBH) that so many voted for him/them again? could it have been a case of having a weak opposition and nobody else actually worth voting for?

Oh, well. All done and dusted with!
Tell you what, one person must be seriously p!ssed off today i.e. Boris Johnson. I don't know if any of you remember that a few weeks ago he was asked to comment on Cameron's wish to continue as a party leader for another five years. He couldn't keep his disappointment hidden as his body lingo and his words gave it away. His face was a frustrated picture when he was parking his push bike. I think he would have loved to see his party's government come down. Then he would have liked to become the party leader, to raise it back up again; in the next election. Then he could have become the PM. Now, with another five years with Cameron, he can't be sure if there will be Tories government again, or will it be UKIP on the throne next time.
Who is becoming UKIP leader now? Do we know? I must Google that.

“Don’t worry Dave, I’m right here, ready to take over whenever you’re gone…for whatever reason.”
Sure, Boris. We're well aware if that, mate.

Policies and principals aside, Farage was actually a bloody good leader. Charismatic, persuasive, empathic. Rare qualities these days. UKIP is absolutely f*****d without him.

I wouldn't go that far, but I respect your opinion on Farage. I do agree that he stood out in the UKIP full of garbage. They're fcvked without him. Let's see which unsung charismatic UKIP member rises like a phoenix from the ashes, to be their next charismatic leader.

UKIP, was doomed anyway
An absurd amalgam of classic right wing laissez faire fee market low regulation claptrap - represented by Farage
So philosophically opposed to the minimum wage, workers rights, the NHS, any sort of regulation, pro big business, pro a casual tax avoidance (just using the rules) and of course the Euopean socialist experiment
And the other wing, seemingly led by Nuttal - trying to appeal to traditional labour supporters, pro NHS, very soft on things like minimum wage, workers rights etc, wage suppression

It was a sound noble suggestion, to go it alone from Europe
But this was unfortunately or otherwise as far as it was ever going run
They'd have voted for Carswell if he'd represented the monster raving Looney party
