How though? Both cars are drive by wire with multiple throttle maps, so that's not real. The sti has active torque vectoring, so will basically drive itself in a similar way to the Audi. As for the comment about suspension, you've lost me there.

The Audi has magnetic adjustable damping, which a bit on the soft side even in the hardest setting.

Ok i'll put it another way, its just the feeling you get with the STi, there's just something about it which puts a grin on your face. In the Audi its all a bit meh.

Know exactly what you mean there Bio. Audis are nice, quick and there is absolutely nowt wrong with them, they just lack that "va va voom" imho!

It's a bit like the difference between Newages and Classics, you can relax a little bit in a Newage at speed but in a classic you're more involved in the experience.

Better is always going to be subjective dependant upon what you want from a particular car, comparisons between the two are pretty meaningless in reality but without them we'd all be jerking off to **** and have sore ***** instead of pontificating about something else that's dear to our hearts.

FWIW for those who will listen, I had a new S3 for 10,000m last year and its a really, really good car.

Still has a normal dashboard as well rather than the iffy digital one in the TT

Given an RS3 with it's insanely fast flappy paddle gearbox can easily put out over 400 bhp, then I doubt it will be anything other than astonishing....

P.S. Where is Bigarf when you need him ?

To sum up, i'd rather have a Impreza with a raw drive and basic interior and save myself £10,000 to go on some hoildays

You are the worst troll I've ever seen.

GFV of a new STI Saloon is £19k after three years. That's impressive residuals.

My tuppence, for what it's worth:

Audi's are great cars but they are too clinical and boring. I had two imprezas then got married and thought I better get sensible and bought an Audi. Fast forward a couple of years and I am back in a 330S hatch. But before I bought my hatch I even booked a test drive with the 3.0SC S4. Long and short of it is I didn't even move it off the for court. It was like sitting in a plush rep's car. Boring!

The RS4 and RS6 are great (I have driven them) but frankly i can't afford to run one. For the money and the thrills nothing I have driven comes close to an impreza. I cannot see myself not having one to be honest.
