22nd September ...hence the geographically difficult comment in the thread for any date after then. HTH

PS Apologies I didn't get the date spot on, bit of mission creep due to it being a little bit more than popping down the shops

Oh hang on it's you, forget the apologies, you can GFY

Ok strikes............Firstly we don't want to go back to the bad old days of Red Robbo and co.....what those idiots did to our country was scarey............However we need a balance of employer / employee protection.......why should a worker have to work in poor and dangerous conditions for a pittance whilst the top dogs get paid obscene amounts.........the workers should always be engaged with whats going on within the company and have a say on how things are run and are kept motivated with decent pay, bonus's , conditions and even training..........

Exactly, the trouble is the way certain politicians and companies are happy to portray the 70s is very convenient for their cause

still the minister has already rung the Jobcentre, so he is on top of his game - and every cloud !!!!!!!!

Hodgy, we both know there is actually no such thing as a free market, our tax money funds the private sector to the tune of billions. But I'd really like to know what you think the minister or the govt should have done. Perhaps he dropped a clanger by saying the wrong thing but apart from that what would have actually wanted the govt to do in this particular case?

without knowing all the circumstances who knows, and I agree in principle, i.e. the Government should not be writing blank cheques to bail out private companies etc (although they seem to do it with the banks)

I believe other European countries offer much more support - The German/Swedish/Dutch government have schemes to subsidise workers wages to help companies through tough times

http://www.economist.com/node/14793440

but we cast them onto the alter of the "free market" (unless they are Banks)

and yes it was a clanger, it just showed a DEVASTATING lack of imagination and capitulation on behalf of the workers

any cvnt can simply "ring the jobcentre"

Not even if I lived in Chester! You will be able to hold the "meet" in a telephone box judging by the "list".

BTW, the new strike laws?, there is no irony.

Now get some sleep or you'll be even more cranky than "normal" in the morning.

Firstly memes and the likes have more effect if you learn to use the [IMG] tag in your posts.

Secondly a recent study of Internet forums and social media have shown that people who use memes in their posts in this way have a personality that garners dissociated and detached amusement at others’ distress and are generally egotistical self praisers ... that fits you (and certain others that use them on here) nicely!

Thirdly irony is a person trying to convince someone they don't know what irony means when they clearly don't know themselves

I'm leaving our exchange here as otherwise it will go the same way as they always have and the mods will have to remove your eventual dummy spit as they have the last 4 or 5 times you have engaged me.

You would do well to do likewise!
